Most of the nicer designs that I've seen can be had for 1k or less. Many watches in the 300-400 range I've seen can be a bit on the McMansion level. If you step up a little higher, the designs are a bit better (not that I don't like any $200 watches). I think the $1k level is where, for me, form and function begin to have diminishing returns.

Nope. I like Breatling's SuperOceans and maybe one or two others but they need to let Citizen and Seiko handle the vernier scale watches.
