Well Dill was based on Truman pretty conspicuously. So you're suggesting that he wrote about himself as a cowardly effeminate kid? Either way I prefer to think she wrote it, one of the first books I really loved.

A lot of the ancient authors are credited for works that were written by women but given to them in order they be read.

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

But The Miser was written by a woman who decided to go by a pen name of George.

As far as To Kill A Mockingbird goes everyone knows Truman Capote wrote that shite!

Yeah, that bullshite was debunked years ago. Lee did help Capote with In Cold Blood, though.

ETA: I see this has turned into an OT circle jerk. Carry on

Of course women are capable of writing good books. There is just so much garbage out there you may not find them

Pat Barker--her Regeneration Trilogy belongs on any list of best written series novels over the past 30 years. Not only is the writing superb, but her perspective on the themes she addresses demonstrate an extraordinary grasp of human behavior under the influences of psychology, technology and socialization in modern society.

Long story short, Bitch kicks literary arse.

the harry potter woman wrote some stuff people seem to enjoy

That would be J. K. Rowling, the only author who literally (ha!) become a billionaire from her writing. She sold more books than any single author in recorded history after all, maybe that has something to do with it. Koontz and King did pretty well themselves but nothing remotely close to that.

If you don't enjoy her stuff, that's perfectly fine but she remains the biggest selling author - ever. And she didn't even write as many books as either Koontz or King did.

Yeah you're right.

Look man I was drinking, I hadn't had dinner yet, and I was a little upset about the Harper accusation. I'm sorry. We cool?

I didn't say that it was in any particular order. It was just off the top of my head.
