I like Montreal steak seasoning.

Sprinkle that on generously, or if you don't have that, salt and pepper will work too.
Then let the steaks sit on the kitchen counter for about an hour before cooking.

I find all marinades cause flare ups and burns easily.

I recall eating marinated steaks in 1983.

This F&D board can be snobby about certain things and this is one of them. Steak marinades are frowned upon.

I have to agree with the board on this. I used steak marinades a few times when I was first learning and experimenting with cooking steaks. I will never use a steak marinade again.

The people I know that like to use marinades all coincidently like their steaks cooked medium well or well done. So there's that.

Great on a cheap steak. Not everyone eats prime filet every night. This stuff is great.

Yea but you can get a good cut that's inexpensive.

There's never an acceptable reason for you to eat a "cheap steak" that needs marinade.

Before I could afford quality cuts Allegro with a sprinkle of Greek seasoning or I would rub them with Tony's and and set them in a container with some Worchestershire.

Now it's just salt and pepper.
