Geoff Tate
Freddie Mercury
Tony Harnell
Ian Gillan- 70's and 80's - not now.
Rob Halford
Evanessence chick- forgot her name
David Gilmour

Freddie Nelson- honorable mention because he can sing Queen songs better than Mercury.

I loved Sam Cooke's voice.

Nothing like hearing his version of Hem of His Garment except for A Change Gonna Come

Sinatra. I seem to pick up on new things to marvel at about his voice, phrasing and shaping of a song every time I hear him. He became his songs just like the best actors become their character.

My favorite singer is Bonnie Raitt, both in her early years, when her voice was pure, and her later years, with her bluesy, whisky and smoke tinged voice.

I certainly wouldn't argue with any of the picks in this thread.

But for me:

Male - Frank Sinatra
Female - Karen Carpenter
