Well I never felt withdraws really because the dr that did the surgery was a "deer camp" buddy so I always had a supply. Until about a 2 years ago he started catching heat about his script practices, I started buying on the black market, until I almost got caught. That was about this time last year and I just started drinking myself to death. By then I had put my family in ruins. I would suggest the instant you can get off, do it.

Not watching that insanely long bullshite of a video but I had 3 friends that lived together; 1 owned a smoker and 2 smoked roxies. Every time we smoked ribs the 2 who chased the dragon would freak out if they thought we used too much foil on the ribs. There's no point to this story other than I always found that hilarious

I took a lot of hydro and oxycodone leading up to and after a back surgery in college. I will never understand how I didn't get hooked worse than I was, wanting them but nothing weed or booze couldn't satiate. the high is very strong and to this day I can remember how much I enjoyed it, but now I'm old enough to see how it can completely ruin lives. Not sure what I'll do if I ever have to have major surgery again.

They can have the used foil. Probably make the pills taste better.

As a long time paramedic (20+ years) I have recently seen a surge in Heroin/oxy OD's. This stuff F's up peoples lives, normal every day hardworking people are getting hooked, and the world comes crashing down on them. I'm not even working in the Ghetto either... Working in Orange Co. California among the wealthy OC folk. just a day ago, I pulled an OD out of a car of a young white male going to work @ a google firm. Young professional. Its rampant and back to numbers I used to see in the early 90's.
For the RX crowd undergoing surg. Just remember to use it for pain, and not to sleep. Less is better, and wean quickly.

I'm 25. I struggled with heroin for the better part of five years. Started with oxy and eventually worked my way up to the needle. After countless rehabs overdoses losing everything. I have 16 months sober. Have a great job working in a treatment center in south Florida and back in school. It took a lot and I've lost a lot of people to this disease along the way but recovery is possible.

Yessir my brother. I think we had talked about it on here before
It took me going to treatment in Florida completely fricking over everyone and everybody and just tired of always scheming. Stayed in Florida now I live in Delray beach and I get to help other hopeless people like I was have hope again and let them try to live again. So many blessings as a direct result of working a 12 step program and finding a higher power. I don't have everything I want but I got what I need and I'm happy.

That's awesome to hear. Love hearing success stories. There isn't a single path to success but if you happen to find one that works for you, keep at it, because there are unfortunately way too many heartbreaking stories when it comes to addiction.

frick that, if I was to need something for pain, I wouldn't hesitate.
But as someone mentioned earlier in a thread, managing pain is getting it to a place where it's bearable, not to eliminate it. Pain in moderation isn't a bad thing.
I just now know after all these years and trial and error where my line is drawn.
Good luck cuz

I can't imagine why anyone would down vote this. Please remove your head from the sand. This is the one thing in the world that truly makes me sad.

Sadly people believe this is just a ploy by the DEA / FBI to indoctrinate kids to be anti-drug. This is real folks and not only that watch the video and internalize the profile of each of the addicts featured. They started as normal everyday people, however a common factor amongst the majority is they all used MARIJUANA previous to opioids. Marijuana is not a harmless drug it is a gateway drug. Kids need to be educated of its harmful effects.

It's been my experience that weed is a gateway drug.
