Yeah I get that and I was mostly being facetious but spreading to 7 detainees that aren't likely immunized and 4 staffers who were immunized isn't exactly a promising discrepancy.
To be fair...I had to have a second MMR booster shot(the shot that protects against measles). When I started travelnursing I had to get bloodwork done and it showed I wasn't immune.

Scruffy reads pretty good.

I've always felt that it was the granola, heavily liberal moms, but that's just from my experience in clinic.
Pretty sure these make up only a tiny fraction of the unvaccinated. The real threat comes from massive waves of unvaccinated illegal 3rd world immigrants.

You are looking at the fact that only 11 people are referenced. How many people do you think interacted with them in passing?
I'm sure it is quite high, but at an immigration detainee center, I'd imagine the majority of patrons are not immunized. As a result, I'd think there would be a widespread outbreak among the detainees and a few staffers here and there. Only 7 detainees and 4 staffers is still a win for immunizations, but it isn't exactly what I'd expect. Perhaps more like 25 detainees and 4 staffers, assuming all detainees were not immunized and all staffers had received immunization.
ETA: In no way am I even remotely anti-vaxx, but I just thought this would be a more pronounced "loss" for the unvaccinated individuals.

Reading that article, I didn't realize measles was eliminated in 2000.. But then in 2008 drs started noticing the rise of measles cases.. Partly due to communities that do not vaccinate. So not getting vaccinated isn't just harmful to the person not getting vaccinated?

if this shite still happens:
It becomes less effective over time, but ideally you got it as a child when you needed the protection the most.

You have to consider that vaccinations are not 100% gonna protect everyone. So people vaccinated exposed to it could still get it possibly.
Also consider people that cannot be vaccinated due to medical conditions. Or babies that are too young to be fully vaccinated against all these diseases as well.

This is an immigration issue period. The immigrants from Mexico, Central America, and the Middle East have diseases that we aren't immune to. Not a slam to those folks, buts it's reality. It will continue to fester until Trump takes office.

I gotcha. So technically it would be hard to completely eliminate it?

Sounds like the staffers need booster shots.

That was also my point earlier. It is obviously a small sample size, but it appears to be isolated to just this detainment center thus far. If all of the staffers are vaccinated and the detainees haven't received the vaccine, those transmission numbers seem out of whack. You'd think patient zero would come in contact with more detainees than staffers, so the detainee infections would be much higher, but I could be way off if most of the detainees are actually vaccinated.
ETA: The booster shots, or lack thereof, may explain it, but again, you'd think the numbers would be incredibly high in the detainees. Maybe 7 is a very high percentage though, so who knows.

The resurgence is mainly due to the mass influx of illegals....book it
