Where do you stand on the issue, salt or sugar?
I'm salt all day.

sugar. My parents were from small communities in West Central Louisiana - not even big enough to be towns - and we always ate them for breakfast and used sugar.

Never sugar. Never.

I didn't know grits were a salt or sugar choice.
I've never heard of grits with sugar
I always thought grits were a salt and Oatmeal was a sugar (although I ate Oatmeal with Tony's and eggwhites during a diet)

Neither
I like the taste of the little bugs in the pack and salt or sugar tends to mess that up.

Salt for me, though I could see sweet grits being served and a sweet grit cake might be mighty good with a fruit compote or something along those lines. A little syrup...I could do that.

Who the hell puts sugar in grits?
First time hearing about this.

Salt. Even if you put sugar in your grits (not sure why anyone would) you still need salt. Salt in everything.

Neither.
Black pepper, unsalted butter, cheese.
I hardly ever add salt to foods... and I've never even heard of sugar grits.

My Yankee ex-husband and all his Yankee family put sugar in grits. It was like watching delicious food being assulted.
