Alaska Mama black bear helps cubs cross 4 lanes while vehicles wait patiently

Are they endangered in AK like they are here in LA? I know we have crossing signs on hwy90 around Morgan Shitty. I'm sure there are others as well.
Any hoot, I remember reading about a driver smoking one :/

Im pretty sure they are actually a nuisance. That is an awesome video though. It's nice to see something natural and pure like a mother protecting it's young. It makes you wonder what happened to humans along the way that so many just do not care about the well being of their offspring.

Black bears and brown bears are not endangered in Alaska, but you don't see them in the cities all that often. The best place to find black bears there is feeding on clover along the rural highways. We saw quite a few doing that on the Alaska Highway.
This is a brown bear family we saw outside Haines 5 years ago. Much less crowded spot than Anchorage but still some traffic.
