I actually saw this type of migration once in my life decades ago...always have wondered what caused them to do that...

They are all small. Gonna use em for bait this weekend.

I noticed the grobeck eating crawfish in the grass. Didn't notice 1000's migrating or anyone picking them up.

Just thought it was pretty cool. All the pictures look like shite from my potato phone. The road is covered with crushed ones. I didn't spend long picking them up and it was all I had.

Bunch of cars were stopped by the lone small shell station

Great, now the farmers are going to raise their prices.

Ha. That's the beer stop not the crawfish stop. You're right though. I did see a few crawfish in the road. After a good night time rain the bullfrogs will do the same this time of year.

They used to do that in New Orleans East, across I10. The road would turn red and many times they had to shut down the interstate. Cars were sliding and crashing.

Just got off work and have to drive through there and there are still people driving around looking for some crawfish.. They are driving slow with their trunk open.. The road does look bloody.. First time for me seeing this

Yup. Happens on Chef Hwy right by Powers Junction (Chef & Hwy 11) every couple years too.

In that area, I think that with the spring tides and southern winds, it pushes in more saltwater. That is when the crawfish run.

Come on. That's an old picture from 2010 off the side of Hwy 12.
