I remember those old Tulane programs. The covers were by John Chase, the greatest editorial cartoonist in the history of New Orleans and the author of a great book about New Orleans street names written before all the names started getting changed.

The old LSU /Tulane wheelbarrow race...
A vintage "must stop" place for NOLA Tigers going to or from (sometimes both) games at Tiger Stadium.

Who knew Rory McElroy played for LSU in 1897.

God could you imagine the melt today if they did that? It would be worth it just for that alone.

RIP Toby Caston and CBA
I never knew Tiger Stadium had hedges like UGA and Auburn

That's my dad's older brother, my Uncle Jeff on the left.
My Grandfather came up with the cheer "Hot boudin, cold Couscous..." and my Uncle introduced it to the cheerleaders and student body!
Unfortunately he died in 2016.

Jeffrey Plauche' Obituary
Jeffrey L. Plauche' Sr., belovedly known as Papoo, who lived on False River in Ventress, Louisiana, passed away on September 26, 2016. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University and worked as a food broker for many years. Captain of the cheerleading squad at LSU, he helped encourage the Tigers to win the National Football Championship in 1958. Jeff and his father created the legendary Tiger chant: "Hot Boudin, Cold Cush Cush, C'mon Tigers, Push Push Push," which is still cheered by students, alumni, and fans today. Jeffrey married Carolyn Cloudt and he is survived by their four children and spouses: son Jeffrey Jr. (wife Sue), daughter Holly (husband Chris), son Bradley (wife Barrie), and daughter Paige (husband Sam). Grandchildren: Julianne (husband Nick), Caroline (husband John Martin), Reid, Chloe', Alexandra, Caden, Megan, Charlie, and Rhett. As well as great grandkids: Davis, Gage, and Annabelle. Papoo left other loved ones including nephews, a niece, and many dear friends who were considered family. He is preceded in death by father Charles Boyce, mother Anna Belle, brother Leon Gary, and daughter Karrie Kay.

What were they thinking? I can't imagine ever following that team now.
Man you are a huge vagina. People like you are the reason why this world is so fricking boring and corporate. And the worst part about it? I don’t think any of you fun nazis actually give a shite about it, you just want to gain points amongst your liberal, fart-sniffing loser friends.

what apparatus is hanging around their necks in the earlier photos? I'm curious to see what type of equipment it is.

From my Dad's 1936 Gumbo. Tiger Stadium packed for the Tulane game. This was the largest football stadium in the South, and the attendance of 47,000 was the largest crowd ever at a Southern football game.

That's pretty cool. Glad we ditched the checkerboard end zones.

LOL! Screams of cultural appropriation and racism!
They should do it.

Tell me what makes this different than Blackface?
I'm not seeing a black face; just football players wearing masks. similar to wearing a costume.

Looks like LSU even through up some bleachers in the North end zone to maximize revenue. I bet a bunch of people were complaining in the Tigerdroppings Times about how uncomfortable they were.

Could've been 8-0 but they called holding on a nice power toss & knocked us out of field goal range.
