What do you use to control/eliminate mosquitos in your yard?

I typically use a thermocell, but exploring additional options.

I just make sure there's no standing water.

They make this spray stuff that you attach to your hose and spray all over the yard. Seems to do a decent job at my house

Have been using Bifen for 3-4 years and have been mosquito free for the whole time. Spray yard and trees careful not to spray flowering plants because of bees. Also keeps red ants away.

Tiki torches with citronella fuel around the patio perimeter has worked well so far. Have a fan and a thermacell that I bust out if I don't want to be trashy.

We have parish wide mosquito control, there is a truck that passes at least once a week during the summer and that helps out a lot, however; there is usually a time before the truck starts to pass that they get really bad. Like someone mentioned, making sure there is no standing water makes a difference, but I have a few of those "Off" candles I keep in the breeze way/porch in my back yard which I light when I go bring the dogs out at night. They do the trick, my neighbor has an electric "bug wacker", which helps out as well.

Hello. My name is Mouth. I pay a pest control company to spray/fog my yard for mosquitoes once a month, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I use one of these with Talstar in it.

I tried just about everything over the years, and then I finally cracked and shelled out for a MistAway misting system. They do work. The chemical is not cheap though--$130/gallon. During peak months, I will go through a couple gallons a month. But, it eliminates about 80% or so of the original amount of skeeters.
The systems range from $2k -$5k depending on how large an area you want to treat and how many nozzle heads you want to add into the line.

On a related note:

The Gulf Coast's steamy climate, abundant mosquitoes and international airports create an environment ripe for the mosquito-borne Zika virus, which has spread to 37 countries and territories in the Americas. The disease causes devastating birth defects and is linked to paralysis and other serious complications.

If you live in EBR, you can call mosquitos control once a month to spray around your house. As long as you don't have a locked gate or dog they will walk around your house and backyard and spray.

Bats.
I have a really tall palm tree, and I just keep the dead fronds on it because they take up residence inside them. I see about half a dozen of them drop out of it around twilight.

They come weekly to my house if their schedule is not too full.
