Anyone else think that the Ramsay killing Roose was just "written in?" It seems like that was the beginning of the end of the Boltons. The wildlings and the nightswatch will destroy them.

I completely agree with you. Thought it was weak that Davos is the one who has to convince Mel to do something.

Why? She's lost her faith. Someone needs to tell her that, and it sure as hell isn't going to be anyone else. Granted I think Davos is about to try to kill Mel when he finds out she murdered Shireen, so I look forward to that.

I think Davos was the only one who could convince her. She just lost her faith. Anyone that was with her on the religion would have lost credibility with her. Davos being pragmatic the whole time gave a sense of confidence and realism to her.

I disagree that it is "well established" that she knows that Jon has kings blood. It's established that she is intrigued by him. I agree with everyone that you are the worst.

Raises hand.

Supposedly HBO plans to end the show in two more seasons, which the last season only having 6 episodes. Therefore, if that is true, there's only 2 full seasons remaining from this the point of this coming episode, yet there are a lot of storylines that need to converge quickly in order to end the series within 2 seasons of time.

If true, storylines will have to progress MUCH faster to meet that deadline which means each episode should be full of crazy reveals. I'm not sure how they can pull that off, but apparently they think they can.

Regardless it should be a fun ride for the fans. Either every episode will be insanely awesome or it will be a giant mess. But even if it turns into a giant mess...the ride to the end should be fast paced and fun!

Your troll job is about as predictable as Jon Snow's resurrection.

So you agree that Jon Snow's resurrection was indeed incredibly predictable?

The moment she met Jon she knew who he really is. That's pretty well established.

She doesn't have to know he's a Targaryean, she knows he's supposed to be Ned's bastard so that means he had king's blood since the Stark were Kings in the North for millennia. And besides if she knew he was the son of Rhaegar she woulda dropped Stannis like the chump he was. I'd bet anything she has no fricking clue about John being the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna.

Moving on to a Game of Thrones theory I just pieced together...

Theory: Could "A Song of Ice and Fire" be about two gay men?

Jon Snow clearly is the "Ice" element. Everyone assumes Dany is the "Fire" element and eventually Jon and Dany will end up together to rule the realm.

However, what if everyone assumes incorrectly?

What if Jon Snow is the "Ice" element and Tyrion is the "Fire" element?

Sure, Jon Snow has shown that he's somewhat interested in women when he briefly fell in love with the wilding girl, but he is a man of the Night's Watch who is sworn to never marry or have sexual relations with women. And, yes, Tyrion was briefly interested in women when he fell in love with the whore who betrayed him.

However, both Jon and Tyrion's first serious relationships ended in complete disaster and death, which would be very traumatic for any person. Perhaps they've written off women for their sanity.

Could he and Tyrion eventually rule the realm together...as lovers? Considering the abundance of gay relationships in the story, I believe we shouldn't completely dismiss this theory.

Martin loves gay romance. That would be the biggest WTF moment perhaps in television history. It would be a bigger shock than the Red Wedding or Ned's head.

Can you imagine Jon and Tyrion kissing for the first time? Can you imagine a graphic sex scene between them?

WOW...that would the twist of all twists!

So I've had a week to digest and I agree to an extent that it was disappointing but I will say that I think I'm just being nitpicky. So I kinda agree? I guess?
My first viewing I loved it. But now I'm realizing that part of that is just my 6 year anticipation of Jon resurrecting and having that confirmed for me finally. It was an emotional payoff because of my investment in Jon not artistic.
Mel just saying some words and cutting a little hair was lazy in my opinion. Why not have her need to drink his blood or sacrifice a wolf. I mean something. Make it look a little harder than muttering some words. That by itself is causing Hodors to think anyone could have been resurrected easily so why weren't they?
I also think Jon just opening his eyes like that was unoriginal. They could have played that to better dramatic effect in numerous different ways. Cut away at the last second to Ghost, the viewer thinks he's dead for sure. Then Ghost's head pops up and you only hear Jon's voice saying "Davos? Where am I?" cut to black.
But I think it's all nitpicking. It was still a great payoff.

Gfy bro. No one wants to see that.

We already have established how someone gets resurrurected and it wasn't some fancy ceremony. They simply gave the usual Lord of Light version of Last Rights and and the person woke up. 6 times actually

I mean I'm not a fan of Jon Snow even being revived, but it isn't news that he was going to be revived. It's been the only thing talked about since the end of last season.

Damn dude. Harsh much? I don't think anyone thinks Jon will be like Beric. We essentially assume he will be something more important. Why not have his resurrection cost more to give hint to that?
And fy. I said wolf not direwolf. Although I see how you could read it that way. Sorry.

I have no problem with the HOW, especially if it is true to the book and/or the book's theme.

My problem is with how it is revealed to us. The eyes popping and gasping breath is meh. Even if that is how it happened, the reintroduction of a living Jon Snow could have been done in better way.
