I now 100% believe Charlie Murphy.
I think the entire point of that is that Charlie is relaying, more or less, 100% factual information. Any embellishment is Chappelle's visual presentation and dialogue. But I always took it that Charlie's stories were pretty close to what actually happened.

Perfect Jimmy Fallon. Interrupts Questlove several times, makes the story all about him. "Hey guys I know Prince just died, but listen to MY cool story about him and ME"

That was alright. Thanks for posting.

clearly, they planned that story. Questlove was supposed to tell the part where Jimmy was playing ping pong with Prince alone?

I figured it was more or less factual, just that it may have been slightly warped in its presentation over time. More than believing Fallon, I know how much Questlove admires Prince and wouldn't dishonor him by embellishing a story like that.

I for one did not believe the Prince skit was real in the least bit when i first saw it, and didn't think differently until he just died.
Charlie Murphy has got to be near the top of the list of guys you want to sit down and have a beer with and listen to his stories.

Rick James brought it up at the end of his interview. Talked about how could Charlie be a big man when he got his arse whooped in basketball by a 4'9, androgynous, wannabe man. He said it was a story known across Hollywood. The night Prince schooled Eddie Murphy and his brother while wearing high heels.

Saw this on FB earlier today. Supposedly it's an actual pic from the night Charlie Murphy is talking about. No idea at all if it's a legit pic, but I want to believe it is for sure.

Love this story. It aligns very well with Kevin Smith's Prince story. If you look on youtube Questlove has another story about Prince too that's pretty good. Let me see I can find it

Fallon tells stories like women. Like Jesus Christ get to the point.

He has gotten a career by interrupting everyone, from his guests to the people he shares the screen with. That's really all he's done, and his interviews are all softball games. You're never going to have Fallon call out his guests on their bullshite, or even allow his other guests to call out another guest in the way Conan does.

To be fair Fallon's head might've burst from over-laughing if Norm delivering that Chairman of the Bored line happened on his show.

If Norm had any respect for authority, he would have taken over Letterman's chair. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending how you look at it) he can't be controlled. He burned his chance at hosting a late night show well over a decade ago because of this.

Yeah that would be a great way to get celebs to return to his show

Yeah, just play drinking games with them and ask them questions no one gives a flying shite about. Top quality entertainment right there. Fallon's biggest interview yet was getting Nicole Kidman to admit that she would have banged him at one point. That's pretty low for as long as he's been at it.
And you do know that great interviewers actually get guests to return due to the fact that they are able to help captivate the audience and get them more interested in their own careers. We want to know about these interviewees doubts, fears, and regrets. I don't think Howard Stern has a hard time filling his guest slots, and he'll ask them literally anything. That's what I'll tune in for. Not just frivolous bullshite no one really cares about.

Who is this almighty host that has amazing interviews every night? That guy doesn't exist in late night in 2016.
