Apple Earnings Report

Anyone making any moves today ahead of the announcement? Expectations are certainly low, I'm hearing people suggest as low of an eps of $2. First drop in revenue in 13 years?
I'm not buying today as I see more to lose than to gain unless the upside surprise is that staggering. I'll consider adding shares below $100 tomorrow, but I just recently added at $107. I will certainly look at the option market in the morning, but the calls I'd be interested may be too far out to be worth the price.
Any thoughts?

Just holding. I'm not worried even if it has a bad earnings call.
Right now the international sector is not doing well in sales growth due to the markets. Apple doesn't need to dominate, just ensure they grow their revenue streams internationally. Not worried
There was a great piece out talking about Apple taking over the fitness tracker market. Essentially, if they put out a more basic fitness tracker to compete with FitBit, they will dominate that market. \

I think Apple and Under Armour should team up like they did for the Nike+ stuff a few years back. Think about it...You've got Tim Cook-Auburn Grad-and you've got Auburn as one of the biggest Under Armour schools in FBS...
Make it happen!

What's going to happen to their stock when they unveil the Applecar prototype?????

I'm also holding a little bit but I'm actually hoping for a drop so that I can load up again.

That whole concept to me is crazy...The automobile market is incredibly mature but there's no mistaking that EV and autonomous driving is on the cusp of a major disruptive event for the industry.
With what I've heard about Tesla's alleged quality control issues (which I've admittedly heard just as much about their customer service after the sale to make it right), how can Apple-who absolutely thrives on the most polished, end-to-end, seamlessly integrated products you can find in their respective categories-expect to go from Zero-Best in Class (if not the most innovative)?
On top of that...EV's are already expensive. Musk's entire movement has been towards lowering the entry point for ownership so that sales can increase and a critical mass can be achieved. Up to now, Apple has been about absolutely maximizing margin on any product they sell.
I don't see how they can project to grab the same level of market share with an autonomous and/or EV with the price tag that will be associated with it.
It's one thing to disrupt an industry with products like Blackberries and Motorola RAZR's...It's another to disrupt an industry with names like Lamborghini, McLaren, Rolls Royce, Maybach, Ferrari, and a litany of our high-end luxe brands...

Pretty much what everyone expected. I see it at $97 per share right now. Guidance was weak, the buyback plan is growing only as expected, and the dividend increase was minimal. I'll add shares at anything below $95.
Anyone else who doesn't own think this is a good jumping in point?
Does most people like myself feel as though you MUST have some apple? I feel like everyone owns it, and most people are overweight in their accounts with it.
I compare owning apple today to owning Coke in the 1960's and '70's. A modest investment then turned out quite well. Idk I'm still long Apple, now back to the bourbon.

I will likely buy more in the 94 range again as a short term play

I think part of the issue going forward is a point you bring up. Everybody seems to own some, it's at the top of so many funds, etc.
People will need to trim that down, which could further drive the price down.
The growth story is over. They all have to end eventually.

sold a bunch last 6 months that I have for years at 115-130
still have a little left
just bought a little at 96 in after hours today
may sell it all in the morning when it bounces back to 101
as you note, the growth story is over...great company, but can't continue it's growth, law of big numbers or whatever

Market has gobbled up every damn dip so far, so we'll see what tomorrow's action brings. FOMC too. I'm sure Janet will be releasing the doves to cool these little flare ups.

I owned a bunch of July $110 options and sold them at when it was $111 (was my limit price) and made almost 2.5x my money. Bought them originally for $4.05 and kept buying as it went down. Sold last week. I am predicting that it will open $96.25ish and I plan to buy January 2017 $115s or $120s at an awesome price.

Same shite that happened in 2012 when everyone thought apple had lost its touch. It'll come right back.

It's just difficult to maintain a half trillion dollar valuation in the dynamic space of tech and electronics. Love their growth in the service and App Store offerings.

Lol
They have no plans are innovation for at least 18 months.
I sold two years ago. Only sheep remain.
Stay safe sheep or you'll get shaved

Wasn't anything at all like today. Sales growth was very strong in 2012, but the stock price had overshot the growth and pulled back.
Today, sales and profits are actually FALLING for the 1st time in 13 years.
I don't think anyone is saying the company is in any kind of trouble, but I also don't think anyone believes they can return to the growth rates of the last 10 years on any consistent basis.

They actually reported growth there. Also, they sold over 50 million iPhones....in a quarter. It wasn't as much as same quarter a year ago, but to say this is a sinking ship is retarded. I just made a shite ton on my plays of the $110 July's and sold last week at $111 (was seriously considering it when t was $112). I plan to buy July $100s at the open today and will lower cost basis if it dips over the next few days.
We will have 2 months of no news...which is always good news for AAPL
