I have a 2014 F-150 - never had problem with dimmer/brights. But I do have a problem with the spread of the light.
When I have to make a 90 deg turn onto a driveway, the driveway is in complete darkness when I start the turn. doesn't matter if brights or dims.
Does the spread on your 150 cover that area??

I've been complaining about that for years. They need to have rheostats on those things.

The new explorers are too bright. They look like they have their brights on. Other than that, led's don't bother me nor hid's. Railroad trucks and trucks pulling trailers hurt your eyes the most.

HID's are awesome. Paying $90 a bulb is not and now I'll only order auto parts online and use the savings to do more ridiculous upgrades to my vehicles.

Yeah it covers area really well. I really do think they are angled too high from the factory though

No.
Headlight quality and clarity varies greatly from brand to brand and even model to model within a brand. Some are much better than others, but I doubt any are "too bright".
What you are probably seeing are the shitty aftermarket HIDs that knuckleheads install in their vehicles.
ETA: While we are on the subject, yes, cops cars have stupid, retardly bright lights.

With the rise of LEDs hopefully HID conversion kit crap will be a thing of the past

I know LED headlights were banned in the U.S. at one point (even though extensively used in Europe). Is that still the case?

On after market upgrades, it's the beam pattern that's the issue. HID/LED bulbs are meant for projector housings only. Turds that put them in standard reflector housings, which just scatter the light and produce A LOT of glare, should choke on their truck nuts.

Considering Shitty old halogens are still being offered on $50k vehicles and below I'm sure the HID conversion industry will be around for another 15 years at least.

I guess the headlights on my Electra Glide are too bright because I have people flash their high beams at me all the time when I ride at night.

FTR, the hardest to distinguish are the new trucks, IMO.
I had to bring my 14' Sierra into the dealer and have them upgrade the bulbs due to a voluntary recall because they barely meet the NTSB standards. Couldn't see shite at night

HID still performs significantly better as a headlight. We're still a few years away. But then people will just put LED aftermarket kits in, and still be using the wrong housings.

Every LED application I've seen blows HID away.
