Why are haircutting places closed on Sundays?

Most people only have two days a week off and you don't want to open on one of those days? You would probably make more on a Sunday than both Mon and Tues combined.
Is there some law about it?

Only a whore or a communist would have their hair cut on a Sunday.

Yes, it is illegal to use scissors for commercial purposes in the state of Louisiana on Sundays. You didn't know that?

Church and family

You think Jesus got his haircut on Sundays?

Because Delilah cut Sampson's hair on a Sunday it's been forbidden ever since.

The bible forbids ever cutting your hair. Shame on you

I thought it was Mondays... plenty are open on Sundays.

Most salons/places that cut hair are open on Saturdays, closed Sundays and Mondays.

My guy started closing on Saturday as well as Sunday. He of course jacked the price up while blaming rising rent for the increase and not the fact he was removing his busiest day from the work calendar.

Same reason most small businesses and Chick-fil-a are closed on Sundays.

I think it's more common for them to be closed on Mondays

These people don't want to have to cut another a-hole's hair on Sundays. Find time during the week.

My barber closes on Sunday & Monday, I usually make appoints for a Saturday.

I don't know who cuts your hair, but the girl that does mine needs Sunday off. I've only heard a small sample of what her life is like and that girl needs Jesus.

I hate this about all types of "service" places. Oil change places, barbers, banks, etc. They're only open M-F like 9-6 or occasionally on Saturdays. It's preposterous. Most Americans [that actually have money to spend] work during those hours on weekdays. They could increase their profits so much more if they were open, say, 12-9 instead on weekdays.
I expect it's done in an attempt to give those who work there the same type of "fair" schedule that normal white collar workers have, but I think that's just the bullet you have to bite when you're NOT one of those.

If your avatar is you, you could probably cut your hair with a Bic lighter, and nobody would know the difference.
