Economy cars don't do 0-60 in 4 seconds...

I'd be pissed if I just dropped 100k on a 2017 Porsche 911 and Tesla announces a 35k sedan that is quicker.

I like how people say they could never get one because it would add hours on to the cross country road trip they will never take anyway.

I feel like every couple has 2 cars anyways, at least in the South.

We live in Houston, and people think we're crazy when we tell them we just have 1.

That explains the news van outside the Tesla place when I was driving home this afternoon.

I bet when the first cars came out, horse fans went online and shite all over the folks who tried the new technology. "Rich assholes spending a fortune for some noisy thing that has flats, breaks down, and needs to stop for gas and water. No, thanks. I'll stick with my horse and wagon."

I'm not a early adopter myself, but I'm glad there were folks with the money and interest to get in early and pay $1200 for the early VHS machines and $$$ for an early Tesla.

Work those bugs out for us and fund the company as it develops a better and cheaper product that we all might drive one day.

That's what this car is supposed to be. This is the most important car Tesla has ever made from a company outlook going forward point of view. If it's a hit, Tesla will be a force in the auto sector for the foreseeable future. If it's a flop, Tesla might just be a flash in the pan. Musk's entire business development strategy with Tesla rides on the success of this car.

0-60 in less than 6 seconds for the base model

talked like every model would have autopilot, didnt mention additional cost.

5 adults comfortably.

Wow that thing looks nice. Looks like a smaller model S, but that was to be expected.

yeah definitely a good looking car. It will be interesting to see what options the base model comes with for 35k.

That car is going to hurt the entry level luxury from Germany and Japan. It is a pretty good looking ride and green.

Is it a hatchback or does it just have a small or non-existent trunk?

I dont think it is a hatchback. he said it had more trunk space than any other car that size and a surfboard would fit in the interior.
