I just left the Pho Cafe on Sherwood Forest.

My recommendation: avoid that place.
The Pho Ga (chicken noodle soup) pictured on the menu looked pretty good... nice chunks of white meat chicken.
Then my waitress brought it out. "Enjoy!"
"Wait. I usually get basil, lime, and bean sprouts at pho restaurants."
"I'm sorry sir. I'll go get that for you."
Say what? Is that not a usual part of the deal?
Then there was hardly any actual chicken in the soup, which was some unnatural cloudy brown color instead of pho ga's typically clear broth. All of which told me that the flavor of the soup, which was salty and bad, came from fake chicken bouillon instead of from actually cooking chicken in a pot. To top it all off, the rice vermicelli was chewy... I didn't know it was even possible to undercook rice noodles.
Maybe I'm spoiled by the great Vietnamese restaurants on the Westbank, but the Pho Cafe gets a big thumbs down from me.

Went to Viet Garden yesterday, and it was on point. There and Dang's are my go-to's.

Where are those places, if you don't mind?

Are they actually Viet, not Laotian / Chinese / Korean attempting to pull it off ?

I don't know... I can't tell those people apart.

Wait is this actually a thing now? It's like we are coming full circle on these Asian culinary subterfuges.

Most places overcook the noodles. You're probably used to that. That's how I like them also. Softer and easier to eat.
Cooking at home plenty of chefs say to double the time.

Plenty of Asian places are owned and operated by different groups. It's actually very common in BR.

Dream Berri is now Pho Cafe, the restaurant the OP said sucks, which I agree.

It usually is. They just don't like you.

I love it too, but I don't think they even have pho. It is a Thai place.
