Yep, they have become great opportunists. While I don't agree with the babble they spew 99% of the time, they have found an amazing way to make a shitload of money from doing it.

Look at the pics of them before the show, the setup was well played.

I can't speak for the rest of the state, but I perceive them to be pretty durn smart. They saw the niche they could jump in to and capitalized on it. I have no problem with them at all.

from an outsider's perspective, they do your state no injustices.

sure they're crude and all, but it seems like they came by their money the right way, practice what they preach, and don't have any real detractors except for the gays.

when Phil told the networks to kiss his arse over the gay comments, i appreciated somebody standing up to the SJW crap.

much better rep for your state than Jindal, Edwards, or Nagin.

They are good people for the most part. They get a lot of hate from people less rich and famous who have not found a way to turn thier hobbies into millions of dollars and world wide fame. The show to me, like all reality shows, is scripted dumbassery. Never liked their duck calls.

i like them. they have their beliefs and they stick to them.

unlike most people who would cave and do whatever was asked of them to continue getting paid. When A&E wanted to suspend Phil from the show, the family stood behind him.

I admire them for sticking to their principals and standing as a family.

The timer has run out on their 15 minutes. Same for Troy Landry. They all need to go away.

I think someone needs to talk to them about over exposure. I admire their success and the values they promote, but I am getting a little tired of seeing them. I watched the show when it first started but now it's just stupid.

They seem to be pretty successful at what they do but I don't live in that part of the state nor have I ever seen their show so I don't know a whole lot about them.

What's not to like? They live the life that hunters/fisherman dream of. Phil can be a little over the top but you can't fault a man for sticking to what he believes. I don't follow their show or own any DD gear fwiw.

As an athlete in high school, Robertson was all-state in football, baseball, and track, which afforded him the opportunity to attend Louisiana Tech in Ruston on a football scholarship in the late 1960s.[10] At Tech, he played first-string quarterback for the Bulldogs, ahead of Pro Football Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw,[11][12] the first overall pick in the 1970 NFL Draft. When he arrived at Tech in 1966, Bradshaw caused a media frenzy on account of his reputation of being a football sensation from nearby Shreveport.[13][14] Robertson was a year ahead of Bradshaw, and was the starter for two seasons in 1966 and 1967, and chose not to play in 1968.[15]

In his time at Louisiana Tech, Robertson completed 179 of 411 passing attempts for 2,237 yards. He threw 12 touchdowns, but had 34 interceptions.[10] It was thought Robertson had the potential for a pro career, but Robertson was more interested in hunting.[10] Bradshaw once remarked about Robertson's love of hunting, saying "... Phil Robertson, loved hunting more than he loved football. He'd come to practice directly from the woods, squirrel tails hanging out of his pockets, duck feathers on his clothes. Clearly he was a fine shot, so no one complained too much."[16]

When Paul Harvey approached Robertson with a recruitment to play professionally for the Washington Redskins, he declined because football conflicted with his hunting. Besides, football was only about holding up his scholarship to him, while Bradshaw practically lived and breathed the sport.[14] Robertson put it in this way: "Terry went for the bucks, and I chased after the ducks."[10]

Robertson later received a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's in education.

I'll await your apology.
