I'm assuming most of you have heard, but George RR Martin is planning a twist for the books that involves a character who has already been killed in the TV show. Just wondering if anybody had any thoughts about which character it may involve or what the twist may be.

I have to say, this feels like Martin is just frustrated the show has passed him up. I hope he doesn't try to force something that doesn't really make sense or improve the story overall.

He's agonized over this twist for a while. I doubt he didn't put a ton of thought into it

The only two that I come up with would be either Robb's wife or Stannis. i doubt he has a big twist for Jojun.

And considering they're still alive (AFAWK) in the books when we last left them, it does make sense. For that matter, the Queen and Shereen - I have some theories about what was originally planned in the books - but they was related to Jon Snow.

Jojun.

Yeah - really sketchy - in both venues, he seems content that his job/function is completed - and is at peace with it.

Yup. He's already said he has plans for one of them that was killed on the show.

I think I read somewhere where it could be up to like 15 different people.

But if he has "struggled" with the decision then I would assume t would be someone big.

I think Mance may be most likely. I was thinking Robb's wife/son, but he won't be old enough to matter before the series ends, unless he's simply crowned. I think Stannis meets a similar fate in the book pretty soon.

I'm guessing Catelyn Stark.
The TV show killed her off, but in the books she becomes Lady Stoneheart. Basically a zombie hellbent on revenge.

Hasn't Stannis already been killed in the books?

There's a number of theories on that and most of them don't think any of that letter was true
