1st time I've watched it in forever and they have a Levy Lounge and Barry's Bistro with SVP. I can't tell if I'm watching sports or the love child of E! and the food network. This is awful

It's a special deal because they're mostly in North Carolina for something.

Turn the station if you don't like it.

ESPN is hemorrhaging money right now because they just can't not air terrible content.

They've started relying heavily on the niche shite. "SC Stars" and the saturation of feel-good pieces have made it decline.

I watch it every now and then but they have gone away from what I loved about it. The damn highlights. Have all the commentary you want BUT give me some damn highlights. They've gone away from what a shortstop did on the field to which model he's banging now. It sucks.

Actually, ESPN continues to mint money. Look at a financial statement. Disney just reported last week. ESPN is ridiculously profitable.

Melrose is co hosting the entire show tonight. Even have Gretzky on. Tbh it's really a slow sports night with NHL and CBB on so there's so much they can talk about

Since "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" first blasted into international theaters Dec. 15, Disney's blockbuster has broken virtually every box-office record in history, becoming on Sunday the fastest film in history to make $1 billion worldwide.

But investors haven't exactly rewarded the media titan: Disney's stock has tumbled more than 6 percent since that premiere, and even analysts impressed with perhaps the biggest film franchise on earth say it's not enough to shield the Big Mouse from its greatest challenge.

Disney's real threat, analysts say, is in cable TV: particularly, in the heavy long-term costs it pays to air sports on its struggling juggernaut ESPN. As more viewers opt to pay less for cable — or cut the cord altogether — Disney's heaping of stunningly pricey sports-TV contracts looks riskier every year.

That's projecting a steep decline and the impact it would have years from now. Those fears are way overblown, first of all. Secondly, they are highly profitable today. The issue of profitability is not an opinion. It is a fact.

Melrose doing the top 10 is pretty hilarious. They're giving all the hockey highlights to Levy.

Disney's Media Networks, the vast majority of which is ESPN, had an operating income of $1.4B in just the latest quarter alone. Operating income for just that segment was $7.8B all last year. That operating income for that one segment is higher than the revenue of about half of the Fortune 500 companies.

Wonder if Clay Travis did any articles about FS1's ratings.

You own a lot of Disney or something? ESPN is losing a lot of subscribers. Sure it is profitable but the point is, they are producing content nobody wants to watch. Also more competition from Fox and CBS. Yes saying they are homorrhaging money was hyperbole but they have problems.

I'm aware of those stats. That does not change the actual reported profits I pulled directly from the company's press release. I don't know why you are arguing about whether or. It th company is hemorghing cash. I provided irrefutable evidence they are not.

I am invested in Disney and have analyzed the company quite closely. They are doing just fine. They actually saw subscriber growth in January so far. Live sports are still the biggest draw by far, and no one has better sports rights than Disney. The "lost subscribers" are people leaving cable in general and likely watch their live sports at a friend's house or at a bar anyway. Subscriber loss will level out pretty soon here, especially as more skinny bundles are available via the Internet.
