any of you gainzers do any intermittent fasting? Thoughts about HMB vs leucine (or BCAAs) for muscle sparing effects when working out fasted and staying fasted for hours after lifting?

I do IF, but I don't train fasted. I take a scoop of whey - Optimum Nutrition - that has some BCAA's, before my lift.

I found IF actually gives me energy through the morning.

I am dieting so no #gainz, but I did back/biceps/deadlifts today. I am on a full diet break at maintenance until Sunday, so it will be a nice week

I feel the same way with the IF, then at some point I feel like I'm gonna die.

How many hours do y'all usually go?

I got 265 X2 on bench last week. Personal best in the last 15 years or so.

I do at least 14 hours every day. (Last meal 10pm, skip breakfast, eat at noon)

But sometimes I do 19 hours and keep fast til I leave work.

I don't mind it.

That's exactly what I did.

Ate last night at 8ish. Didn't eat until 1pm today.

Worked out at 5:45 this morning. Felt good until about noon. Then I felt weak/sickly.
Not keto flu sick, just queezy.

I'm about two weeks into 5x5. Everything is still easy but I didn't want to jump in too fast. I added curls, pull-ups, calves, and threw a set of cleans in there as well today. Today was squat, OH press, and deadlift day.

Guys, I need a legit leg day workout plan. Usually I do squats, stiff leg dumbbell lifts (hamstrings), leg press, calf extensions, and jogging on incline. Is there anything else I really need or does that pretty much cover everything?

I don't skip breakfast, but I keep it really light. Usually just an Atkins shake (<200 calories) to push me through until lunch which I try to keep real light on carbs - 5 or less.

Ate dinner at 6:30 last night and then didn't eat again until noon today. I'm not doing that every day but I'm going to try to work in some extended fasts and see how it goes.

Starting the 2nd week of the 3rd cycle of the Wendler 5-3-1. I have really enjoyed this program.

I'm on week 6 of Wendler 5-3-1 as well.

It starts off pretty easy. I think what you'll notice is that you always go in confident for a lift.
You know you're gonna move the weight. And you know what you're going to do for the four main lifts. Bench, OHP, squat and deads. You don't need someone to 'workout' with.

Once a week, I'll ask one of the trainers for a spot on my last set of bench. This is the only spot I need. The guy knows I'm doing Wendler, and I've mentioned how it's the only time I need anybody's help. I get right under the bar and move the weight so I don't waste his time.

You're going to get stronger. But you have to do his lifts first. Whatever supplemental lifts you want to do have to come after.
