Why doesn't any TD board talk more about Mardi Gras?

Mardi Gras is a huge part of Louisiana culture. I know it's isolated to the New Orleans area, but it seems strange to me that very few people here have stories to tell or things to say about it.
I only spent my childhood in New Orleans, but I have plenty of fond memories of going to parades.
Do y'all enjoy it?

It never made sense to me. It's supposed to be catholic based yet they have wild parties and worship false Roman and mythical godss in the parades...God teaches temperance and moderation yet Mardi Gras seems to promote drunken debouchary and sexual immorality. It just never made sense to me.

Because Baton Rouge doesn't have a clue as to how to celebrate Mardi Gras. Spanish Town is basically a hetero version of a gay pride parade. They make sure that all parades are done prior to Mardi Gras day, so that everyone can go back to work as if it's a normal weekday.
