Wingspan or standing reach? They all have similar wingspans EG attacked the basket before the injuries. That was his game. I don't really see that in Hield Beal and Mcclemore are pretty athletic, too. Curious to see what Hieid does. Gotta be able to rise and shoot over guys in the league. He's carrying a little more bulk, too
Standing reach. That what's strange to me, in NBA, Gordon was attacking the rim more than in college. But for college he was doing both, shooting 3s and attacking the rim. Gordon shot 208 3s to 212 2s at Indiana.

They are actually not similar at all. Mainly bc of attitude.

Wat
Mcclemore has been lauded for his attitude
What are the other major differences?
They are also the same age. Could you imagine Mcclemore as a senior at KU right now? He shot 50% from the floor and 42% from 3 as a Frosh

Yup. I'm on same page as you with the top 4 being potential super stars and immediate help.
I also think this draft is pretty deep (specifically at the C), and there's guys in mocks falling outside the lottery than can provide help. We just need the picks.
Valentine, Beasley at FSU, even Grayson Allen at Duke can shoot lights out at the 2 at be EG replacements.
If we miss on Dunn, guys like Melo Trimble and Baldwin at Vandy have the size and handle to be a NBA PG
I feel like there's 5-6 7 footers in the 1st this year that can do what Asik does.
Once again, we just need the picks and should be sending out Ryno and EG for any 1st we can get our hands on.

Hield may not be the most physically gifted option when we draft but he is 100% the type of player we need, both on the court and in the locker room. He shoots lights out as the main focus of elite college teams defense, think how he'll be as a 2nd or 3rd option. Plus Gentrys offense requires an elite shooting 2 guard. We need a JJ or a Thompson or a Joe Johnson like Gentry has always had. EG ain't cutting it.
This is a good article that really shows his intangibles. Guys a trash talker who is the heart and sole of a team and despises losing. Outside of Perk we have no one like that.
Buddy Hield

I agree with the premise of what you're saying
Hield is closer to EG and reddick than Joe Johnson and Klay Thompson. The latter are 6'7" with a spring in their step

I agree with the Reddick comparison, and that's why I don't want him if other higher potential prospects are available. We need a star to pair with AD, not another role player.

And how do you propose that? Outside of Ben and possibly Ingram who has 100% star written on them?

And we don't have time for a Redick
4 year college player that takes 5 years to develop in the NBA

We are currently 7th. Even if we trade Gordon and Ryno for future assets, I don't see how we finish higher/lower than 6th. Maybe if you trade a Tyreke package to Brooklyn and help them win games, but outside of that it will be hard to be worse than the 5 teams at the bottom that have at least a 7 game lead in the loss column.

Bender is just as talented as those two. He's a little more raw due to lack of playing time (international coaches hate them some rookies), but the star potential is there. I remember Stein and Lowe gushing all over him at that world tournament back in October.

He's got a good wingspan and large hands and has shown the work ethic/tenacity and basketball iq to be at least an average NBA defender. I see a higher upside than JJ Reddick, but it's really the personality that I want. We need someone to be a vocal leader and a guy that's gonna force our guys to play with a chip on their shoulder like Draymond does for GS or Garnett does or Chris Paul. If you didn't read the article you should, it's a good read and really makes you like the guy
Obviously if Simmons, Ingram is available take them but other than that I'd value Hield over the other top 10 prospects. i could be convinced on Brown

14 teams are in the lottery, though. Which is why every loss counts and we are wasting precious losses
2014 - CLE - 1.7% (9th) - 1st overall
2013 - WAS - 3.5% (8th) - 3rd overall
2012 we got AD23
2011 - LAC - 2.8% (8th) - 1st overall
2010 - PHI - 5.3% (6th) - 2nd overall
2008 - CHI - 1.7% (9th) - 1st overall
2007 - POR - 5.3% (6th) - 1st overall
Obviously odds are higher at the top, but almost every year a team lucks into a top 3 pick with the odds stacked against them. Getting into the top 5 is all we really need to do.

I'm with you on wasting losses. Utah won last night so we are now 5 games out of 9th. If we don't get any crazy ideas in our head and beat a team we shouldn't hopefully we'll be even further behind when the trade deadline comes when they have to decide if they think they can save the season.

A loss to the Lakers tonight would be a good start. With trades made and a continued focus on Cole, we could catch Min. for the 5th spot. I think the Suns, Lakers, Nets, and Sixers are out of reach.
