I think I'm going to go with the 30in Masterbuilt
$177 with Amazon prime is just too good to pass up.
Anyone have positive/negative experience?
I had an Orion for several years but gave it to my grandpa. I did really like it though.

I had to buy a cold smoke box for mine. It won't smoke at temps below 220°

I've had the 40 inch model for over a year and love it. Super easy to use and clean

Got it about a month ago. Used it at least once a week since and have had zero problems.
Made tasso (150-170 degrees)
Ribs
Whole Chicken
Smoked a couple sauces
Chicken thighs
No problems whatsoever

i got the masterbilt 30 inch for christmas.
i like it. i've done 321 ribs, chicken thighs, and jerky.
the ribs were great.
the thighs were OK. I actually used them in a gumbo the next day. the gumbo was good.
the jerky was good but i cooked it too long.
it's a learning process

Get a 5x8 AMNPS for it, cold smoking and hot smoking pellet smoking replacement. Never use the garbage chip loader. Basically you will go from loading chips all the damn time to having perfect thin blue smoke for 11 hours.
smokingmeatforums.com has good info about where to place it and how to get the air flow right for whatever generation 30" you bought. People tend to like the 1st generation 40" the best for using the AMNPS.
Elements go out a lot on Masterbuilt. Masterbuilt typically has good customer service and has been known to replace some for free.

Mine broke after 11/2 yrs. they have a one year warranty and then after that you are hosed.
It was a heating element. They offered to sell me one and by the time I paid to have it installed, I could have bought a new one.

My dad has that one, extremely easy to use. Think I am going to use it for some wings for the Super Bowl

I didn't even bother with calling them. Should I?

Hard to do a good 40 hour low and slow If it only smokes above 220.

I could always sit there with a pack of Winstons and my Hunter I guess.

Do it, they've been known for having great customer service. Wouldn't hurt to try and see what they say.
