Singlehandedly. Yeah we had the game in hand. Sucks to suck I guess. TQ shot 5-5 from 3. Blakeney was 3-5 from 3 with the game tying shot late to give us hope after it looked like it was over while they shot free throws. Victor played awesome. Everyone was fricking amazing. We just got beat by some dude that was out of his fricking mind and made like 7 straight 3's. Hand in face, wide open, eyes closed it doesn't matter. He wasn't fricking missing

Give Oklahoma credit and stop dogging our players. At least we didn't lose by 30 today like we could've easily laid down and done. frick all you negative pussies.

Here's to making the tournament. Give us the 11 seed. We'll be the most dangerous team out there. frick em. Geaux tigers

Have an upvote.

Hield was unstoppable 2nd half.

Nah. This is the first game I've really watched in a long time, and it's obvious that JJ cut his teeth under Dale Brown. Absolutely zero motion on offense - not even a semblance of running any sets. Lazy passes. No blocking out on the boards. etc. etc.

It's criminal that BS only had 7 shots or whatever it was.

Good try, but Georgiethegeek has it all figured out.

Hield only looked great because we left him wide open with our pathetic transition defense.

I like your mentality on the loss. I was upset that we did not use our timeout with 3 seconds though. Pretty questionable move by JJ. Still though, we played great losing to the best team by 2 points, and we owned them for about 30 minutes. I'm curious though, what do you guys think this team must do to make the tourney?

Win at least 7 more games in conference and hopefully finish in the top 3 of he standings. And/Or go deep in the conference tournament, with a big win over the Aggies or something along the way.
It's definitely not over. We need to take care of business against the shitty teams in conference.
Cannot afford another bad loss. The media wants Simmons in the tournament. We'll definitely get the nod over some other team that might deserve it

You're right it was probably coincidence that he wasn't shooting especially great until he hit 3 unguarded three pointers in a row. Also probably a coincidence that we were up 10 before that too.

If we beat A&M I think we're allowed to lose one either at Arkansas, at South Carolina, or at Kentucky. If we lose to A&M I think we need to win every other game.

That's absurd. Dude was amazing. He could do no wrong. I wouldn't have been shocked to see him come out after the game on that unicycle and stack six bowls on his head.

Dead wrong. You come out of a timeout and your best player does not touch it. You leave one timeout of the board and two of your last 4 possessions are 3 on 1 by Quarterman and they are at best a prayer. ????

While I don't claim to be a basketball expert by any means it is very obvious that LSU lacks any type of organized offense. Even my mom made the observation and asked me "why do we (LSU) just stand around watching whoever has the ball?".

I'm sure he has been asked at some point but what is JJ's answer when asked what our offensive philosophy / scheme is???

Defense was good tonight, if you don't see that then you have no hope.

Hield was jacking up contested 3s and nailing them. Again, he hit 52% from 3 playing in the Big12 prior to tonight. He had a body on him relentlessly throughout the game.

The guy is just good. Why is that so hard for people to understand? He wouldn't be POTY candidate and won Big12 POTY last year without being special.

Disagree. I think finishing 7-3 (13-5, 20-11) puts us in the conversation. A couple of tourney wins likely gets us in.

Don't underestimate the want of the committee to have players like Simmons in the big dance.

Halfcourt defense was good. Transition defense went tits up about halfway through the second half. That's when Hield went off. That's when the lead disappeared. It's nice that you want to make excuses, but that was a winnable game.
