heaven to me would be sitting inside of a hunting cabin in the mountains while snowflakes drift down outside...
I am sitting in my leather recliner inside by a crackling fire sipping burbon while a pot of gumbo simmers on the stove...
the old AM radio over the fireplace is tuned to WWL where I can hear Jim Hawthorne calling play by play of the LSU football game Vs Alabama in tiger stadium...
My mind drifts back and forth between the game and the trophy elk that I will take tomorrow...

Deliver me in a black -winged bird
I think of dying
Lay me down in a field of flame and heather
Render up my body into the burning heart of God
In the belly of a black-winged bird

heaven is our real home. we're only here to be tested...will we choose good or choose evil?
we are in a home away from home,
til it is time to go back.
the nurse said Mom is on schedule to go back home pretty soon, and that I was doing a good job, keeping her comfortable.
she has a tumor that went cancerous . she's looking forward to going back home...it's a spiritual world

Standing in the Kop End at Anfield. With a pie and pint in me belly. Up 4-0 on United singing "You'll Never Walk Alone".

Man created his own heaven or hell. Most of us live our lives on some purgatory in between, trying to figure out how to get there. When we find it, were too weighted down by responsibility and the task of living to enjoy the brief time in which we glimps it.

I always figured that one part of what I would like to do (though not the only thing for sure) would be to be able to travel anywhere through history and pre-history and witness some of the big events/exceptional people first hand:
Listen to Confucius and Socrates and Jesus, etc. Watch the battle of Teutoborg Forrest. See the first burial. Watch the building of a pyramid. See a Wooly Mammoth hunt. Stuff like that. And if I wanted I could be there in the form of a person that fit in (so I wouldn't be killed instantly. And if did get killed, I'd just go back to Heaven).
And if this Heaven thing is really gonna last for eternity, I think I might do something extreme like going back a few thousand years to one of my ancestors and watching all the intervening lives between them and me. And then do it again with another one, etc.

It's the difference between having the earth at your fingertips and having the universe at your fingertips

I've always viewed heaven as me being reunited in some place with everyone I've ever loved, and all the pets I've ever had...with God present and His happiness eminating from that joyful reunion being unable to be wiped from my eyes or ears.
