I just listened to the interview of David Brewerton discussing the recruiting of Lindsay Scott that aired earlier this week. Brewerton prefaced his comments by saying that he is not trying to promote Lindsay as the young man will make his own decision but:

-Cam Cameron has stayed in touch with Scott’s football coach and has called consistently throughout the season to check on Scott’s progress/season
-Scott can read defenses
-Smart (football and academically)
-Good kid
-Can make every throw
-Does a lot of things people don’t know about in terms of preparing himself so that he is ready to play college football
-Comfortable under center (i.e. Play the “pro” style of offense) (Not just from a spread)
-In the huddle commands the attention and respect in the huddle………
-Comes to the sidelines and tells coaches what will and won’t work
-At half-time when the coaches get in the locker room he is already talking to the offense and telling them what the coaches had planned to tell them
-Like an offensive coordinator on the field.
-The kind of kid you may get once or twice in a coaches lifetime
-Did not grow up loving L.S.U. .
-L.S.U. has not signed kids from Zachary High School so there is no pipeline
-Is a thinker and will make an informed decision regarding his choice of college to attend
-He understands that L.S.U. is a major, major program, SEC, SEC WEST and 15 minutes away from home so he understands what the L.S.U. offer means. "he gets it"
-Is not a running back who can throw as many people perceive a “dual threat” Q.B.
-100% Q.B. who can run

Scott is a baller. I like the Russell Wilson comparison. Smart, athletic qb that moves the chains with his arm and his legs.

Same thing I saw when I watch him at this year title game only knock I saw was he was short which really doesn't matter.

So we really have no clue which way he's leaning? Didn't know if we had an "insider" who's posted anything on it yet.

I was really impressed with David Brewerton, the Zachary coach. He was articulate, measured in his responses to all questions, candid, etc........... I got the impression that Scott will get as much info as he can on the schools, the coaches and schemes involved, will do the due diligence and will make an appropriate decision for him. If that helps..........

No, that's fine, and it's great that he's taking his time. Was just curious if anyone was aware of a "lean"

His dad said he practices dropping his deep passes by making the ball drop onto a homemade ring contraption they made. He was over throwing his deep ball and made those hoops. Madw a huge difference in his game. The hard work this kid put in is not something you c see everyday. Will be a great QB for someone.

How is it a knock if it doesn't really matter?

Maybe LSU stumbles into a great QB.

So if he would be 6'2, he would be rated a 5 star? Seems the only reason he's a 3 is his height (if all this information is legit)

I guess a Drew Brees or Russell Wilson type qb at that height is more of the exception than the rule.

Am glad to read that CC has maintained contact throughout the season.

I love this kid! He's just what LSU needs. Too many hi star quarterback recruits coming in believing their own press clippings. I believe Lindsey would come in hungry, hard-working and gifted. He will do what Dak Prescott did at Mississippi State.
Come on over MR. Scott!

I just listened to the interview of David Brewerton discussing the recruiting of Lindsay Scott that aired earlier this week.

I heard the back half of that interview earlier this week. I am pretty familiar with the ZHS program because my kids just passed through the system over the last several years. My kids are a couple yrs ahead of Lindsey but they keep up with many who are still around. Also I work in the community and know several people who have kids on the team. Add to that, I live a block from the school. I can tell you with high certainty that there was nothing in Brewerton's comments that were made up or exaggerated.

Aside from that I could not tell you whether he is going to go to LSU or not... Just my personal opinion, I felt the deal was cut this week simply because I did not think LSU, at this stage of the game, would lay the offer on the table if he was just going to turn it down. That would be just more bad PR for LSU on this issue. Also, it does not take 4 hrs to say "thanks, but no thanks."

Time will tell.
