Simmons had a bad game and still had a double double

Think about that
Other LSU players who had bad games:
Victor- 10 points, foul trouble very early and had to sit
Hornsby- 8 points and went 3/7 from he field
Gray- 0 points and 2 assists
Blakeney- 7 points, 1 assist, 1 rebound
Patterson- 1/5 from the field for only 3 points
Malone and Robinson combined for a whopping 4 points and 6 rebounds and 5 fouls
LSU as a team only shot 10 FTs all game
I won't pretend Simmons had the best game. Obviously he didn't. But to slander the kid for an anomaly bad performance while the rest of the team sucked shite through a straw is crazy and makes me hate you all IRL.
The problem is depth down low and coaching.

Probably a triple double if you include his turnovers

Sounds like the stats that Chavis used to accumulated.

Victor is the glue to this team. If he's on the bench half the game we're in trouble

Simmons is using the season as a combine. He's athletically superior, so he'll have a double double most times. And this is going to be unpopular, but here I go... he plays like he doesn't care about what the team accomplishes, that whatever they do is just extra on top of his skills tour.

Any of those other guys going to be the number one pick in the draft?

Here's the gripe, all of this is true...
And yet the "best NBA prospect of the last many years" is content with passing the ball to these guys and letting the fate of our team rest on them, instead of trying to carry the team himself. A perfect example was when the team was down 10, with 7 seconds left on the play clock, Bennie had the ball in his hands, yet instead of trying to score the ball he passed to Darcy 13 feet away from the goal, who predictably did not score. Michael Jordan didn't pass the ball to Luc Longley when the team needed a basket.

Yep.
I won't fault other posting for wanting all of our guys, including Simmons, to play harder.

Show me minutes, Simmons average what per game?

The #1 pick had ten points and didn't affect the game at all? Sorry. If he's the top pick, he has to be more aggressive in taking over a game

fricking post his stats in OP. frick. Every game I have to go to ESPN or something if I miss the stat line quoted after the game. Why does nobody post his stats?

You've got to scheme for Hornsby to get more than 7 looks.

The problem is that this coaching staff couldn't get this team up for a game against the 10th ranked team in the country. That's the scariest part about all this. WTF

You pissed me off stating Victor had a bad game. He helped keep the game close making shots in the paint, not from the FT line and didn't have 2 points with 5 minutes left in the 1st half.
Victor actually played with good effort and energy. If he got some help on guys on D he wouldn't have been in foul trouble. Your entire post is suspect due to that. That dude has been extremely solid. This team drives me crazy.

That was a very poor game by Simmons. I'd say his worst of the year. Maybe he was still sick.

There is no doubt Simmons is as good as advertised. Great all around player who will go on to a great NBA career. It seems to me the great players in the past carried their teams to more wins. Chris Jackson led his team (yes with Blanton) to the tournament his freshman year. He won a lot of games on his unstoppable play that year. Shaq carried the team to the SEC title his sophomore year with little help. Now a days these high draft picks don't seem to carry their teams.

10 pts, 11 rebounds.
Almost the weakest way you can get a double-double, but a double-double nonetheless.
