Saudi Aramco's Potential Market Cap

The Saudi's are pricing their IPO of Saudi Aramco. I think this chart is pretty mind blowing so I thought I'd share

Sweet baby Jesus

That would make the largest company in the world, AAPL, look like a small business.

Wow.....seeing how petrobras operates, not sure I want to be involved in something so rife with potential problems.

What oversight would there be on the accuracy of their financial reporting? Just spit balling here but that could be an issue. Especially when the projected market cap is so ridiculous.

It looks like that chart is based on the amount of total oil reserves. I wonder how accurate those measurements are?

quote:

In 2004, Saudi Aramco stated that its oil initially in place (OIIP) has been growing steadily since 1982. There is considerable doubt about the validity of this increase, given the lack of new oil discoveries and the unusual nature of its steady continuous increase. Aramco stated the OIIP was 700 Gb at year end 2003 while a more realistic estimate is 580 Gb.

ETA: my tin foil hat moment...If Saudi Arabia did not have the oil that we think it has, then maybe the USA pulls out and King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud has to fend for himself.
