Why would they pursue Sumlin? And with the supposed heat of his seat in College Station why would he not listen?

Either that is totally false or Sumlin turned down the interview because he figured he was getting Rooney Ruled and never had a chance at the job to begin with. If you are in Sumlin's shoes the only interview you can take is one where you know you have the job. aTm would fire him in a split second if he started interviewing for other jobs.
