NY strip goes on sale for pretty cheap sometimes. Around $5-7 per lb. It's probably my second fav cut.

NY strip is one of my favorite cuts- less marble more meat

Get a chuck roast and have them slice it, called a Chuck eye, best ribeye alternative

I usually get the three pack of tenderloins and strips at SAMs. Used to get whole rib eyes and tenderloins and cut them myself. Too expensive just for two people.

I'd just grab me a couple poke chops and call it a day. I know you said beef, but I think a nice pork chop is one of the best values when grilling.

If you know what your looking at sirloin can be a good grilling steak

I've had tough steaks, but never a tough poke chop.

Get a skirt steak grill it hot and fast and then slice against the grain.

I like a good flank or skirt steak. Not as good as ribeye, but give it a try
Cook it fast with lots of salt

Go shoot you a Sandhill Crane. Ribeye of the sky!

Flank steak. Get you a little chimichuri to go with it.

I like a sirloin...but it has to be cooked more rare than a ribeye because there is no fat in it....

I love a good skirt steak or flank steak, but I can buy ribeye around here for much cheaper for whatever reason. Not sure if it's like that everywhere.

We will do flap steak from time to time. We love it. It's like a skirt steak but a little more marbling.

Cheap alternative to steak? Tofu is cheap.

Your location says N. MS. Next time your in Tupelo stop at Todd's Grocery on Main St. They have rib eye 6.99lb or strip steak 5.99lb on sale every week. They alternate every few weeks which one is on sale.
Also pick up a few of the whole chickens. Small birds, locally grown, and not packed in the bag with all the solution. I occasionally get a bird with a feather or two.
