He did at Wisconsin, and Steele also did it.

If so, are we stuck with BDP as Special Teams Coach?

I don't think that will fly. They just spent more money on Aranda than Steele. Hiring an additional coach may not be feasible. I think Aranda coaches LB's, and we are stuck with BDP as Special Teams coach.

They need to cut Cams salary. Its bullsh*t that het gets paid THAT much to have an offense that ranks so low. If he takes a hefty pay cut then we can afford to pay for an actual special teams coach.

There is a limit on coaches. How do you not know this?

would like Peveto moved to LB coach (he's a killer in recruiting), and hire a proven Special Teams coach.

I would too, but who are you going to get rid of to do this? Corey and O are your only other defensive coaches (besides BDP helping).

The only thing I could see is move Ensminger to admin and hire a ST coach. I would also be okay with replacing Ball for C. Johnson to coach WRs and TEs.

Peveto is already coaching linebackers.

Considering the importance of the LBs in Aranda's defense, I hope he coaches then. Does Peveto even have experience coaching in a 3-4? The guy can barely coach his players to say in their lanes in kickoffs. I don't think we want him teaching a defensive scheme he barely knows.

My bad. I'm an idiot. I know Les loves the guy, but is his recruiting talent enough to offset possibly losing games over coverage issues?

Steel did not do it. It was BDP. I think he coaches the LB's again next year, this was his second run as the LB coach and he is pretty decent. I do expect (and hope for) a new ST coach!

usually in a 3-4 defense there are two lb coaches, inside lbs and outside lbs. their jobs are very different so they need to have specialized coaches. so if we do switch to a 3-4 we could have aranda and peveto coaching lbs

Aranda coached ILBs, there was a separate OLB coach.

I don't understand why we have a TE coach when grimes and ball can just coach them. get rid of ensmiger, move peveto to LB coach and hire a Special Teams coordinator

I would think Coach O would play a big part in coaching the OLB's as well since of their role in the Dline. But I am not going to pretend to know what they are going to do. What I don't hear anyone talking about is the possibility of Aranda bringing in his some of his own guys.

If there's anyone who's getting paid more to do less, it's Ensminger. At least Peveto is actually working, I'm not even sure what the hell Ensminger does besides collect a paycheck and show the TE's how to block, which could be done by Grimes.

BDP was also the LB and ST coach the 07 season. Does anyone remember what happened that year?

I agree with 420 and Pirate, let Grimes and Ball coach the TE's.

IMHO, Aranda will not only coach LB's but also coach
BDP in this position.
