Never underestimate LSU underclassmen declaring
Lewis Neal's Junior season>>>>>>Anthony Johnson's junior season
If Neal had simply underachieved/played halfway decent his first 2 seasons instead of completely not playing, he'd be gone.

You are a special kind of stupid.

I'm going to assume those stats are true, but yes, that is a huge difference in the programs.
Mass defensive exodus after 2012 season, 2013 D holds us back.
Mass offensive exodus after 2013 season, 2014 O holds us back.
It seems pretty straightforward to me.

Can't refute what someone says, just calls them names. Typical

Les needs to do a better job of recruiting his own players to stay
Is this really the case in college football? I know back when I used to play playstation 10 years ago, you would recruit your players to stay for their senior season.
Either way, most coaches would probably advise their players to do what's best for their futures.

We may have 2 people on the entire roster who should go pro early. Maybe 2.

I think Freak Johnson was scared the NFL would find his real birth certificate and screw his chances even more at being drafted
Had to do what he had to do

It's hilarious how these guys can have one decent year of college ball and decide it's time to roll out.
The new CBA makes it more beneficial to go early. The 2nd contract is the pay day and you are a year younger.
Sucks, but that's the deal now

This was the thinking in the early years of the CBA but players are finding out that it's not true. When everyone and their mama declares early for the draft, it dilutes the talent pool with prospects that aren't NFL-ready and then those players go undrafted.
The reality is that very few of the players that declare (1) get drafted, and (2) make enough of a contribution to earn a 2nd contract. This is the reason why they amended the draft grade process, because if you get lower than a 2nd round grade, it really is better for your longevity in the NFL to get more development at the collegiate level.
The La'el Collins case was different, and he will be earning more money than his peers because he isn't bound by the fifth-year option, but there are literally no other UDFAs that have 1st round talent.

The only player on the entire roster that is currently NFL ready is Fournette. That's it. Tre White is not a shut down DB in today's NFL. He's a Nickel at best.

Yeah, I forget about him because he plays tackle. He'll be a great guard in the NFL.

When did we start trusting the local sports media again?

He should stick around. Under the tutelage of STEELE he will surely develop into a first round talent!

This was correct in year one when entries increased. Now everyone has shifted down a year.

Another potential reason for the big drop could be the cautionary tale from this year's draft. Of the record-setting 98 underclassmen that were granted eligibility for the 2014 NFL Draft, a whopping 45 went undrafted. That number prompted further calls from coaches and others for players to think long and hard before making the jump from college to the pro ranks as underclassmen.

He's not ready. Lacouture is not ready and Beckwith should stay so he can improve himself into a bona fide high 2nd round pick.
