His winning percentage here is better than Nick Saban's during his tenure. But he is a clown who has no clue. Got it.

No true LSU fan is pulling against LSU.

But during the 2nd Q of our game w A&M, I told my brother sitting behind me that I felt like losing that game would be an unanswered prayer. Couldn't help but think that a loss would have necessitated the change, thereby helping the program long term.

I have no need to pay to watch next season play out. I've already watched it over and over. There are far too many that feel the same way to result in good things long term w Miles as the head coach. The people that are used to selling off some of their tickets to pay for the ones they use are in for a rude awakening next year.

I think it's very unrealistic to expect that Les Miles will change his offensive philosophy. Why? Because what he has done has worked very well for HIMSELF. He has managed to coach eleven years at a high profile school in a high turnover profession by winning at just a high enough rate to keep a just big enough core of apologist fans. Why on earth would he change anything when it's made for himself a king's fortune?

I'll watch because, well, frick. I used to live in Florida and had to sit outside listening to half garbled radio broadcasts of LSU during the worst of times. Games where often, the only way I could really tell what was happening was by the crowd noise.

So, I'm LSU forever.

But, I also remember how I felt those seasons. I didn't tune in with excitement really. I just did it because, well, I'm an LSU fan.

I approach next season with absolutely zero anticipation. If our defense is anything short of awful, it will be a surprise. I cannot fathom how we plan to stop the run.

And, I expect more of the same on offense.

So. I'll tune in. Cause, that's what I do. And, I'll hope we win each time.

I just have zero belief that will actually occur.

Oh. And don't delude yourselves people regarding recruiting. Recruiting rankings rank teams by the players they get BUT, those rankings do NOT care if you've recruited your needs.

IE, you could theoretically land #1 in national recruiting if you landed six 5 star wide receivers. But, that wouldn't mean you had a good recruiting year.

Would you ever tell everyone how crappy your life is? Or do you sugar coat it to make it seem better?

I'm taking you as a glass is half empty kind of a fella.

I didn't hear the actual quote, but if that's what he said then that's what frustrates the hell out of me about Les.

It's coach speak. You'll never get to hear what Miles really thinks.

He's saying the things that he thinks are in the best interest of his team to say.

How about he just says " I can assure you that you will see a creative , disciplined offense from here on out." I think a simple statement like that would please a large portion of the fan base.

I have to disagree. I'm just an observer and nothing ever pleases a large portion of the fan base of LSU. It's the strangest thing. No matter what happens people come in here to complain.

I like it though. It is worth many laughs.

Frick you if you're too dense to realize I am FAR from anti-Miles. He's the most successful coach in program history, he's an icon, he's won titles, he recruits, he handles himself well under scrutiny, he's a good coach. But if you think any successful coach is above criticism then you're an idiot and anything short of hero-worship is blasphemy. You're no better than the extreme negatigers that call for his head any time the opponent gains a yard. You people make me sick. You preach about "having some perspective" and have absolutely none.

I'm bored at work today. Tell me of your perspective. Do you see yourself as the middle ground between the pro and anti Miles crowds?

"Be honest, is there anything he could say that would compel you to start a thread to praise and respect this man as a coach? Don't lie either."

Dummy...If you've paid any attention to my post history, you'll see I've done this quite a few times.

But to criticize him for making politically correct comments at a local press conference leading up to the bowl game....?

Do you attack Miles when responding to the pro Miles people and defend him when responding to the anti Miles people?
How do you handle being in the middle of the road?
Honestly I don't see much of that around here.

I'm not complaining. It is so funny.

For making excuses that I don't think make great sense, yes.

All he said really was that we lost Hawkins, Moore, and Gordon to injury leading up to the three-game losing stretch and that having them in those games might have made a difference.

And again, this was a local radio show with Jim Hawthorne, not a televised ESPN interview with Kirk Herbstreit. These bits are literally never anything but feel-good fluff. I just don't see what there is to be upset about.

Why?

And to answer your question:

To the people who think that nothing will change next year and all the coaches will stay because they're all BBQ buddies I remind them that he's made plenty of staff changes in the past and there's no reason to think he wouldn't again. I started a thread about it that was mostly downvoted.

I started another thread about Les coming back after 2008 and 2009 with a great 2010 and 2011 with his own players and that 2016 could be another 2010, and I'd consider that a fantastic season. Got called a pumper for that.
