You see what I mean, nix?
LSU has a national championship back in the leather helmet days, then lightning strikes twice in a decade and the natives think they are Notre Dame or USC or Michigan or Ohio State or Alabama. They think that they are the cream of college football.
That sir is funny.

Miles pointed out that the losses the team sustained were against some of the best teams in the league and that if they had not had a series of injuries the outcome might have been very different, but that they are still set to play in what he said is unquestionably a quality bowl matchup.

Sad this is what we have become.

Unbelievably sad. I really am tired of Miles. It's been time.

No matter how bad you fools on this board want to, it is impossible to win the national championship every year

Dude, it isn't even that. We look like dog shite in 3 straight games. We haven't done that in ages.

It's embarrassing how we have no alternative answers. It's pathetic and sad to see. The team and program can be so much more.. I miss winning big bowl games.. we aren't even winning bowl games any more or playing in big time bowl games. I miss seeing LSU dominate opponents and at least being competitive in the losses.

Miles has sucked so much fun out of football lately with his philosophy.

Prototypical example of the timorous inferiority complex that undergirds the worldview of so many posters. Really depressing.

Worse yet, these sentiments are based on a skewed and antiquated view of the CFB hierarchy. Notre fricking Dame hasn't won an NC since 1988, nearly three decades ago! And Michigan, for all of its pomposity and tweed jacket gravitas, has ONE NC since 1949. One. 1997. LSU has three in the same period.

CFB changes over time. And based on facilities, resources, conference affiliation, and the all-important recruiting base, LSU is one of the five or ten best programs in the nation. I'm sorry this upsets some of our so-called "fans," especially the ones with transparent agendas.

That shitty response has gotten so god-damned old its great grandchildren are in nursing homes.

Not winning the NC every year =/= being a mediocre mid-tier SEC team four years running and 7 of the last 8.

Since when and on what fricking planet is Arkansas one of the best teams in the league?

He either doesn't think there are major problems or he knows there are but has no clue how to fix them. Either scenario is bad.

Les indirectly admitted that Bama, Ole Miss and Arky are better and have been better football teams than LSU for a couple of years now. Of course he's right about that because it's the absolute truth.

Yep. And it's his job to make us better than they are. Is there even one shred of a reason to think he's going to start doing his job all of a sudden?

Because those are the only two options?
Of course they are bad. You NEVER say anything positive about LSU football and you only think the negative so no doubt the only options you selected are the two that make the coach and program look bad.

I understand not winning the championship every year, but could LSU at least be competitive in november?

getting blown out three games in a row and struggling with texas a&m 19-7 is ridiculous.

Losing games is one thing.

Losing by 14, 17, and 21 is another.

Are you saying that under Miles, LSU has never improved? Facts aren't on your side

LSU was in control the entire game and missed three field goals and still won by two touchdowns even while the qb couldn't hit open receivers. Still ended up winning handily.

the excuses get old. oh well.

When a majority of the fan base is willing to accept excuses as a substitute for wins, why would a coach do anything OTHER than make excuses? It's a hell of a lot easier than actually doing his job. Miles won't do his job until he's REQUIRED to.

It's been obvious to anyone paying attention the last few years that Miles has become complacent, assuming he could coast along winning 8 or 9 games a year, never contending for another title and retire when he got ready. The only hope is that the close call he had with getting fired has caused him to reconsider that assumption.

LSU fans should just be happy with 9-3/8-4 seasons. that's what it boils down to.

I will wait until after the bowl game before I start getting upset but that quote sure makes it sound like Miles has no interest in making any significatnt adjustments to the offense. As someone mentioned earlier in today's game if losing a blocking tight end and fullback causes your offense to completely tank then there are major problems.

When Frank Broyles coached them, but that was a different league.

To be fair though, they beat us, Ole Miss, Auburn, and a pretty good Tennessee team. Their games against Miss St. and A&M were very close and had they gone the other way they would have finished the year 7-1 in the SEC, regardless of the 2 WTF losses in September. On the other hand, if the Tennessee and Ole miss games go the other way, they're 3-5 in league play. Just depends on how you look at it.

i cant control what i see as an inevitability. sorry. no changes with an antiquated scheme will lead to another ho hum 9-3 or worse. dont worry, we'll still get our big wins against the mac, american conference, conference usa and sec bottom dwellers.
