Both players are guilty and should be fined and suspended. OBJ was the worse of the two offenders and the penalty should reflect that.

Agreed. If by "Odell Beckham is going at it today", the OP meant he acted like a punk-arse bitch, then yes, he went at it. And he was completely invisible in the first three quarters as his team dug itself a 35-7 hole.

He had three personal-foul penalties. He tried to take out Norman with a head-shot launch, which was stupid on so many levels, and he should have been ejected. If he didn't play for one of the New York teams, he probably would have been ejected. After a Giants TD to cut the deficit to 14, he engaged in a celebration with Rashad Jennings on the sideline because it's always time to celebrate when you're losing by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Then he lowered himself down to $cam Newton's level by mocking his celebrations and ended up looking like a jackass when the Panthers immediately came back with a scoring drive to win the game.

Beckham was an embarrassment to himself, the Giants and to LSU today. Just low-class, selfish behavior today. But it should be expected when you have blond-tipped hair and specialized cleats that call attention to you over the team. Selfish player.

Norman was overly aggressive in the replays I have seen. He could have easily had flags thrown on himself. One of the first plays he throws OBJ to the ground

(I watched the highlights on NFL.com)

Being slammed to the ground is not something someone should be fined or suspended for other than if it's on a quarterback.

IMO both probably should have been flagged multiple times in the game, but the only person that should receive harsh punishment is Beckham for his head shot block on Norman. Dirty as hell. Should be one game and a big fine. For a league that's facing a billion dollar concussion lawsuit they need to set the tone for players who target that area of the body in a careless manner like that.

I watched the game. He slammed him within the rules of the game. That happens many times per game.

As much as I love him, he should have been ejected from the game. OBJ needed some self control. Just because you are all that does not mean you let it all get to you.

Please don't hate. I am not hating on him but a little more self control and they might could have won that game.

It all started after OBJ dropped the pass. Then he acted like a fricking thug, hitting Norman with his head and hands to the face on every running play. He even cheap shotted another Panther.

Where are you all seeing that Norman initiated any dirty shite? OBJ is now classified as a punk.

I haven't really watched him much other than highlights. Has he ever shown this kind of aggression before or was there something going on between him and Norman?

Not that it would be excused.

I've never seen him act like that before. Beckham missed a long ball, and Norman got inside his head. Norman did take somewhat of a cheap shot at him (running play, wrapped him up and threw him to the ground. Totally unnecessary), then Beckham retaliated by stopping short on a deep route, bracing himself, knowing that Norman would run into him pretty hard and likely fall backward. They got tangled up, one threw the other to the ground, and then Norman really focused on pissing Beckham off, but he really did so within the rules of the game for the most part (notable exception was bump and run coverage where he wound up getting called for illegal hands to the face. It may have even passed in any other game). Beckham's antics didn't really stop at targeting Norman, though he was way more aggressive with him than anyone else- on the Randle touchdown early on in the game, Beckham can be seen lowering his shoulder into someone who wasn't anywhere near the play.

The helmet-to-helmet shot should have been the end of his time in this game- watching it live, he was out of control and going to hurt someone or himself, it seemed, if he kept playing.

In the end, it was probably a combination of being pissed at himself for not opening the game with a big TD catch and letting a small incident with Norman snowball.

I can literally think of one other time that I've watched him play that I thought that he displayed less-than-stellar character- and I don't even remember the incident clearly. I seem to remember him just aggressively jawing/taunting an opponent a few weeks back. definitely nothing like this.

I hope he pulls it together between the ears soon- I love good football, and he didn't play good football the majority of today.

I agree with Hopeful Doc. OBJ let himself get out of control and I was disappointed to see him display the lack of control. Hope he does not bring this to the table again.

OBJ acted like an idiot. He should have been ejected from the game. I'm NYG and LSU fan - now, an embarrassed one due to his actions yesterday. Hopefully the NFL comes down hard on him - he could have injured others.

Hope he doesn't turn into a continual classless act.

On the first offensive play of the game Josh Norman set the "bar" by taking a swing at OBJ and then grabbing and body slamming him right in front of a Ref.

Instead of calling this obvious penalty on Norman Ref does nothing and that signals the level of "officiating" to OBJ.

Yeah, later OBJ lost control going after Norman, but Ref could have signaled on first play they weren't going to tolerate any cheap shots and didn't.

It wasn't "somewhat", and it was right in front of a Ref who did nothing.

He took a swing at OBJ, and body slammed him on the first offensive play in front of a Ref.

In short, he instigated and set the tone from the first play, and wasn't flagged.
