Yes, they do. What's interesting is that Finn speaks with an American accent, despite being a British actor. Kinda makes you wonder if the accents DO mean something.

I thought I speculated this way back in the teens or early 20's of pages:

maybe Phasma is Rey's mom, and she was also a Storm Trooper "recruiter". She dropped Rey off, and was also the one who brought Finn in.

Why make an issue of Finn being taken as a kid, instead of the whole Clone thing, or just leave it vague? Why make a point of a single female Storm Trooper, seemingly random in her role, and starkly out of place among all the uncredited Troopers? Hell, Daniel Craig got almost as many lines as she did, and he's just a trivia footnote.

One slight curveball is that maybe Rey isn't Luke's kid; if Phasma has been hanging around the First Order awhile, maybe she got it on with Snoke at some point

I don't think Disney has any plans on going back to the prequel trilogy other then maybe really general ideas.
I'd say that would be a sound guess, and probably a good business move.

I suspect this was done to clear up any possible confusion because the two most recent movies featured clone troopers. They figured people would automatically assume that these stormtroopers should be clones too.

It also shows that Finn was not part of a volunteer army, and even with years of programming still felt like he was part of something wrong.

If you look closely, Snoke's scares on his face and head resemble Anakins after he was burned and when he became Vader.

I don't believe this is the case or even know if it could happen...just a thought. Lol

If snoke is not plaqueis, I will lose all respect for the trilogy and quit life.

Luke is Rey's son. Rey is Anakin Skywalker reborn.

Why does Kylo Ren take his mask off and put it in a ashtray before interrogating Rey?

We saw Anakin's ghost(s) in RotJ, so I'm pretty sure he's dead-dead.

It would almost be a disservice to Vader/Anakin for his story to continue, IMO.

I'd like to see Plagueis, but I could live with a compromise.

- Snoke found Plagueis' spirit
- Palpatine was not Plagueis' apprentice ('legends' are out the window)
- Snoke isn't a Sith, but taught the Sith (and possibly Plagueis) things over time

Etc...

The first six movies have one set of overarching villains. Going from Palpatine/Vader to some new guy is a bit jarring. I'd like to see some sort of tie-in to the previous villains.

It was a way to show off his vanity. This attractive girl hustle called him a monster who hides behind a mask. He wanted to show her he was human, and her age.

He also did it to gain her trust.

He turned into a 14 yr old boy for a moment. I thought it was great.

Has the theory of Rey being Obi Wan's granddaughter been discussed here? This article makes some pretty good points (even discusses speaking accents).

Maybe those are Vader's ashes?

Someone brought it up a while back. That article points out some intersting parallels, and makes it seem plausible. However, one big question I'd have if Rey were revealed to be Obi-Wan's granddaughter...Who is her father/mother (Obi-Wan's son/daughter), and why didn't Obi-Wan train his own offspring to become a Jedi to go along with Luke to try to defeat the Empire? I guess it could be explained, but I think if this is the case, it'll look forced just for the shock factor of a twist instead of a decent plot.

Any chance Rey is daughter of Luke?

remember they said Luke left after Hans son started his destruction. u see her family bolt during that cut scene.

Also, when the door opened up and han and Chewy popped their heads in the scene, anyone smile and get giddy?

I think the most-plausible "Rey is a Kenobi" theory is that Obi Wan had a love child (about whom he may not have known) with a Mandalorian during the Clone Wars. Rey would be the daughter or granddaughter of that child. Luke discovered Rey while seeking-out force-sensitive children in order to reconstitute the Jedi Order after the events of Return of the Jedi.

I agree with what seems to be the most-plausible theory - Rey is Luke's daughter, Luke was training her, Kylo spared her from the slaughter and ditched her on Jakku.

This may have already been answered but, how did Poe get off Jakku and back to the Resistance?

Obi-Wan had a lady interest in the prequel novels. I wanna say her name was Siri?

But if they had a child, that child would be way older than 19.

Rey is Luke's daughter.

He told Finn he woke up a ways a way from the ship and couldn't find the ship (since it had sunk in the sand that Rey had told BB8 about earlier). Assume he tracked down someone with communications to come get him. He said it really fast when they first see each other at Resistance Base.
