With the injury to Cincinnati Bengal QB Andy Dalton and backup AJ McCarron's rise to being a starter, Alabama fans may finally see something almost as rare as the Tide playing in an NCAA Tournament game.

A quarterback from Alabama could start and win an NFL game for the first time since 1987, as we noted previously.

Tide starting NFL QBs are 0-12 since Jeff Rutledge won a game for the New York Giants in 1987.

It is odd.

Alabama State- Tavaris Jackson has more QB wins since 87.

Bama's RBs suck in the NFL
Bama's QBs suck in the NFL

Saban must be the GOAT if he can coach these scrubs to championships

Bart Starr (MVP x 2), Joe Namath (MVP), and Ken Stabler all won Superbowls and all played at Bama though.

Not a Bama fan by any means, but lets look at the defensive players that have put in the NFL alone compared to other teams.

I hate Bama. Hate. I don't want to see any success.

But...this is a really lame knock at them.

Dont see how this is hard to believe.. Alabama for the last 30 years has mastered the job of gathering quaterbacks that are breed for college football.

Not sure why. Bama never has a great QB. Just a QB good enough to complete the occasional necessary pass. Their defense wins them games.

Why is this hard to believe?

Ever since Namath who was a million years ago, Alabama Qbs have sucked arse in college and rarely get drafted.

For a supposed "power" up there with USC and Ohio State and Notre Dame, Bama totally falls in last place and lagging behind when it comes to total overall draft picks and All-Pro and HOFer players in the NFL.

This is what puts Bama behind USC, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Notre Dame in the CFB pecking order.

They're not an NFL pipeline to success like Ohio State or USC.
