Gonna be in San Antonio for a couple of nights between Christmas and New Years. We've never been. We are staying at the Hotel Havana on the river walk. What are some recs for eating and drinking? Any great dive bars, breweries, fun shite to do? Thanks

River walk sucks.... No real dive bars except an Irish pub with little to no beer selection.
That being said we had a great meal at boudros. Went to blue star brewery just up the way and a few there as well. There is a place called friends that's supposed to be cool. It's a little up the road.

do not waste a meal on the riverwalk
down south alamo alone there are a ton of places...hot joy, feast, B&D ice house, friendly spot etc. in the pearl there are probably a dozen restaurants all better than anything at the riverwalk
have fun

Bohanan's Steak House or Luke on the River Walk.
If you have a car go to Flores Country Store in Helotes.

Any of these. That candied jalapeño over creme cheese at Bohanan's is very good.

Wife loved Guenther house for breakfast. It's a nice excuse to walk down the river.
The best thing I had on our last trip was prob some simple taco from titos.
I think you have to hit mi Tierra for lunch or maybe skip it and do Rosario's at night.
Boudro's guac is awesome.
Briscoe Western Art museum is a small but fantastic museum on the river walk. I highly recommend it. Santa Anna's sword, a ton of saddles (including one of poncho villas), a restored Wells Fargo stagecoach, etc.
Hit up la villita (on river walk) one morning. Much better than the made in China "mexican market"
