Thanks Unc Buck. I like that line-up, but I get the feeling it might be a down year for attendance.

Showed this to a Jazz Fest board member and he first looked confused, then asked where I got that, then smiled and said "I can tell you some of those are definitely on the list and some are not."
Guess we'll find out Tuesday if he's full of it.

If half of that is accurate it'll be a great jazz fest
Hoping Stevie wonder for sure is, been wanting to see him live

He played jazzfest 4-5 years ago. Just another recycle job for the suburbanites.
My Morning Jacket and Modest Mouse would be cool, although MMJ just played here in July and MM played the Civic about a year or so ago. Would be nice to see something different.
Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam? That sounds more like a Voodofest 1998 list.

Age is a bitch. You can't keep pulling the same 60-70+ year old headliners year-in, year-out that are only getting older. There will be a natural evolution. Can do much worse than 90s rock.

how many big names are there left that haven't played or wouldn't be recycled? lineup rumors look awesome to me.

There is no chance all those names are playing JF...I'd have to buy weekend passes and go every day.

Just a couple questions? Forgive the novice questions. I've only been to one JazzFest and that was probably 2008ish. Whatever year it was had The Counting Crows and they were to perform the Friday and it STORMED. Put us geting into NOLA and the hotel late and by the time we got there we didn't even want to head back to the venue and the storm and flooding. So, to sum up, its been a while.
Concert/fest still held in same old former horse track?
Is the situation on getting a ride cab/shuttle/whatever improved at all? I recall standing in a SKETCHY park waiting in a massive cab line. The only reason we got a cab within an hour was a fight broke out and everyone ran to watch the fight. We strolled up into an now vacated line. Otherwise we might still be waiting on a cab.
I only went to the one JazzFest and enjoyed the Festival itself, but the "journey" back to the Quarter was an "Odyssey"! My assumption is that improvements have been made to the venue, system, or area? the time I was there was only 3 years after Katrina, so.....?
Any insight? Huge Pearl Jam fan and huge New Orleans fan.

Still at the Fair Grounds, and getting a cab can be a chore. Uber is now in NO so that may be a big assist, plus there are pedicabs that will take you to there and to the FQ.

ya cabs are not easy at all if you stay the whole time.
Either leave early, drive yourself, have a car waiting or try and get to the streetcar quick.
