Rumor: Houston Rockets seeing if there is a trade market for Ty Lawson

The Rockets have been sniffing around the league for deals and there is a belief among other teams that Lawson could be had in trade, and had cheaply. Lawson is owed $12.4 million this season with the final $13.21 million of his deal being fully non-guaranteed.
As the Rockets search for ways to change, there is a belief that Lawson could be the first Rocket player moved. But given how poorly Lawson has played in Houston and his troublesome off-the-court history, it’s hard to imagine that Lawson alone is going to yield much in return. But as teams start to get desperate, Lawson does have a career assist average of more than 6.5 assists per game and averaged 9.6 per game last season for the Nuggets.

The Rockets are 10.4 points per 100 possessions better this season when Lawson is on the bench rather than starting. Lawson and James Harden — both of whom need the ball in their hands to be most effective — get outscored by 9.3 points per 100 possession when they are paired. Pair Lawson with Dwight Howard and the Rockets are -11.4 per 100.

don't know why they would trade someone during november when games don't matter.

Admittedly I didn't really feel like this was the guy for the team to add. Too soon to trade him though IMO

I thought Lawson was going to be a steal....I was wrong.
and I was wrong about the Rockets altogether.

Didn't seem to factor into Morey's brain before. This was a bad trade from the get-go and hopefully someone takes him off our hands.

I was pumped when Lawson was brought in and had very high hopes. To this point the Lawson experiment has been a failure though and I would be okay with seeing him go.

I don't get it. He finally showed some potential last night. And we learned in the playoffs that we can't win with only one playmaker from the perimeter. We need to make this work.

To someone who is only a fan of HOUSTON, these games don't matter as much because my paycheck and livelihood dont depend on it. HOU will be in the playoffs with a chance to advance to the next round come April and what has happened so far this season will have nothing to do with whether or not D12 hits that free throw, or if ariza can make that steal, etc. Comprende?

Wouldnt be a huge fan of a Lawson signing, I'm fine keeping the guys we had an developing a little more continuity. That and health are the keys to a championship. ...
They can trade for that guy during the season no need to get a guy who is a mess like Lawson. They can coast in the early season and still win 2/3 of the games. ...
Well he's got 2 in six months and isn't a good locker room guy and sucks at defense. HOU isn't that far off they don't need to bring in a guy like Lawson to get there....
sigh....

You really think Harden is going to give that up responsibility in the playoffs?
That was always my issue with the move. It made sense as a low risk, off the bench playmaker, but the two are really unplayable together. Especially because of Harden's regression on defense.

It'll matter when you to play the Spurs or Warriors in the 1st round

We'd have to play them either way to win the title...
And Spurs don't scare me one bit...

Finishing 7th or 8th this year is basically a death sentence. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a team or two actually tank out of the playoffs to get the lottery pick instead of getting swept by those guys.

Thought this was the Rockets savior

Well, that was quick. Wonder if he is back on the sauce.
