Then you know what I'm talking about. One of the places we stopped was Cameroon.
I was 1 of those 20 people. They tell me and another mechanic "We want you to take a look at the engines on one of their ships". I get down there and find out that this diesel has been torn apart for about 5 years. I ask the guy where all the parts are and he starts lifting up deckplates and there are piles and piles of engine parts.
I think someone higher up than me failed miserably during that whole planning phase.
The Cameroon Navy:

One lady had a collection of small rocks with a name of a city and country hand written on them. They were then sprayed with clear coat. They covered her entire workspace of two tables and desk area. Friends and relatives sent her these rocks when they travelled to said cities and countries. When she retires she will need wheelbarrows to haul them off.

I live this scenario everyday. I'm coming to my office this morning and there is a semi truck loaded with dry cement overturned in the roundabout near the port. How does a semi truck overturn in a roundabout in the middle of town? I will give them credit. The one thing they do really well is remove crashed and overturned semi trucks. They have plenty of experience doing it.
When were you here?

West Africa at its finest. I'm amazed at how they can keep 20+ year old vehicles on the roads. They will literally drive them until the wheels fall off. Once the wheel falls off they jack it up and fix it right there in the middle of the road. I saw a taxi one day and the entire rear of the car was being held together my duct tape.

Someone called the police on me and said I was drunk and not looking out for her safety. Neither was true (and would not have been cause for the police, regardless). For her trouble, she got a plane ticket home. Literally.

2005 or 2006
We were all up and down the western coast. There were a couple of places where you could literally smell the garbage on the way into port. I don't see how you can live there.

We had a guy who cut about 20 pieces of 1-1/2" steel plate to dimensions too small for the job. While the shop foreman was chewing his arse the poor fellow got so nervous he had 2 cigarettes lit at the same time.

I was there too.
I made up this really fun game while I was there... you should try it out. Actually it was 2 different games when a group of African kids come up begging you for money.
1. take out a handful of change and toss it in the air and watch them fight for it.
2. take out a bill and hand it to one of the kids and yell "RUUUUNNNN!" and watch him haul arse while the other kids try to chase him down and steal his money
Oh and I saw a fricking monkey tied to a pole. Riding down the street in the back of a military truck and I look over and there's a monkey with a leash tied to a pole. I couldn't get a good pic but that's him just beyond the car windshield.

I came up behind this old shitty Suzuki Vitara a few weeks ago and this guy had a 200+ pound hog in the car. I can't even imagine the smell inside that vehicle. I've seen goats hauled on just about everything, including motorcycles.
I was stuck in traffic a few weeks back and the guy in front the car pulled out his cellphone. Check out this monster.

I worked in a hospital for ten years. I've seen lots of weird stuff. I was called out for a procedure early one Sunday morning and happened upon one of the security guards masturbating in one of the doctor's offices. The name of the security company was Wackenhut.

Also, your buddy did not do any of that.

That's actually not that far-fetched if he's an employee at a nursing home, mental facility, ER(people coming in on Mojo and bath salts do this).

I actually heard that same shite(pun) happened at the ER here in BR recently. What causes that? I can't recall what they told me was the problem but it's some seriously fricked up digestive system problem and this patient was fricked.

Walked into a bathroom on the casino floor and guy was passed out on the toilet, door open, no shirt, pants down to ankles with a Paris Eiffel Tower drink around his neck.
This was at about 2pm on a Tuesday.
