They're all gone now

My maternal granparents, Mamaw and Papaw

My paternal grandparents, by their first names. I don't remember how that even started, and nobody else does either. They were very formal people, and it was uncharacteristic, but I did.

As for my parents, the grandchildren call my dad by his first name. My mom didn't want to have a nickname, she requested that they call her Grandmother. Kids will come up with their own ideas, so we didn't think it would stick, but it has.

I know this sounds weird but as kids we called them Connecticut Grandma and Grandpa and Mississippi Grandma and Grandpa.

If I said Connecticut Grandpa everyone knew exactly who I was referring to.

My mom is all I have left and I call her mom. Dad was dad. Only met one grandfather and he was grandpa. One grandmother was grandma and the other was nana. I do have two aunts and I pronounce it ant.

Mamaw and paw paw for mom's side. Nanny and granddaddy on dad's side when they were alive.
