You need to look at the last four years. And, there have been zero signs of improvement.

How do we know this is the case? What if a new coach, breathing life into the program, actually increases season ticket sales? Many fans have been driven into a state of apathy and we would potentially have lost some season ticket sales next year.

Yeah, on 247 I read that the Alabama loss because it was so bad, is when the decision was made to cut ties with Miles.
If Alleva started thinking it might come to that and preparing for that eventuallity that's one thing. If he made the decision before the Arkansas loss, he's the worst kind of idiot and I hope he's run out of town on a rail.

Les Miles reminds me of coaches like Tom Landry and Chuck Knoll. They were both icons of their teams. Les has won a lot of games but the game has passed him by. When Jimmy Johnson came in, the team had to be completely re-built to modern football. That is not the case with LSU. There are tons of talented offensive player that are not being utilized correctly. We cannot continue to run a 1970's era football and expect to compete for a national championship.

Mosscoma is full of shite. Alleva planned to rid LSU of CLM when he invented the "Miles clause" and put into the asst. coaches contracts. it's just now come to the point where he wants to enact the plan.

I hope there is a very good coach for this program that has the chest to take over a program that fires it's coach with the best winning percentage of any other coach had at this university.
Well, Jimbo Fisher wasn't afraid to coach for a school that forced out the winningest coach not just at his school, but in college football history.
Don't act like what Les Miles did from 2005-2007 makes him untouchable in 2015.

Apex, if a decision was made to cut ties with Miles post 1/9/12, why did LSU give him an extension?

when your agent plays games like his did with the arkansas job... to get a raise and ext....
that chicken can soon come home to roost and shite on your head

I am glad to know that, I couldn't sleep at all last night until i knew what pkf4lsu thought about the show last night...

I tend to believe it

Alleva made phone calls to certain Agents after the Bama loss...that I believe 100%
If my employer did this after I ripped off one of the best regular seasons in college football history I would milk him for all he's worth. Anyone who believes this actually happened needs to get their head examined.

Wouldn't it have been more rational to call Miles bluff or let him walk if Alleva was so knowledgeable and competent?

The frick he will...
Unless he's director of player personnel or something, this is not happening. In one year he took a top 10 national defense to the cellar of the SEC.
1 year he ruined one of the countries most consistently good units.

I think the first statement he is referring to the 2012. NC loss. In the second he is referring to this year.

He has always been a players coach and does things HIS way. Well guess what. YOUR WAY isn't working cause I am sick and tired of having THAT game or THAT call or THAT penalty or THAT stubbornness in your play calling and NO adjustments I mean NONE. And it's been going on for a LONG LONG time. I won't even say what I want to say about the NC game vs BAMA other than YOU PLAY FOR A PRIZE and YOU WERE FRICKING being labeled as quite possibly THE BEST college football team ever and that's how you go out THAT year. Nicely done and wonderful adjusting and trying to alter things up.
Simply put. Les you are not THAT guy anymore. Moving on.
All the individuals agreeing with you and your comments you can all kiss my arse! We owe Les a hell of a lot more than what some of the "so-caled" fans and media and university higher ups are showing Miles.
I have not always agreed with some of what Miles has done and there are aspects of his personality "stubbornness" that I wish he would change. But make no mistake about it, Les Miles is good for LSU and he is a good coach and this is going to hurt LSU in the short term. How much is obviously remains to be seen at this point, but it is going to hurt LSU going forward there is no question about that.
You see all you idiots that want him fired "looks like you got your wish" what you don't seem to understand is this is a two part equation "firing miles and then hiring a successor." Just look at the way LSU Admins "Alleva" has handled this situation and you really expect Alleva to get it right on hiring the successor? You guys need to put down the crack pipe because I have no faith at all. With all the quality coaching jobs open this year, this seriously is a recipe for disaster. And if the right coach is not hired "and you guys need to put down the heroine needles if you think Fisher is coming here, Sexton is licking his chops because he knows he is about to get his client a HUGE raise at FSU. Fisher is not leaving a program that is clicking on all cylinders and 2 years off a Naty, it ain't happening. So if we don't hire the right guy we are stuck another 3-4years for that guy to fail and by that time we will be an also-ran in the SEC west.
This was not thought out well and executed even more poorly than it was thought out, this is going to be a shite-show and our ring leader is Alleva - we are fricked!

College football is a big business.
Agree. To that end, winning cures all ills. Let's say Fisher stays at FSU, or he takes the USCw job. Then what? Will have a loaded roster next year and a new tier II coach. With a new system, results will be worse than the current system. Will your hypothetical new guy be able to recruit like Les?

You restated my point. With Les as Coach we at best have apathy from the fan base. Apathy = less dollars spent by fans on football program. From tickets to t-shirts.
With a new coach, we the fans become optimistic again and are more likely to spend much more money on LSU football.
How many people is that over a four year period? Not sure, but the AD and TAF know how many people equals $15M in incremental profit.
It isn't ideal, but from a business perspective you have to make a move.
I won't be going to Lambeau next year if Les is the coach to watch Harris turn around and pitch the ball to Fournette.
However if Dan Mullen is the coach, I plan to spend a lot of money to be there
