Trying to remove history. Irony is it took a white guy to abolish slavery, blacks didn't do it for themselves.

Well if that's the case, maybe we should give the Louisiana territory back to France...

Absolutely. I would not mind being the one to do so.

The Jefferson DNA sample used in the testing came from TJ's uncle's lineage - meaning that the markers would be a match for any number of Jefferson siblings or cousins. Until the TJ/Sally Hemmings hysteria began in the last 30 years or so, even the Hemmings family believed that they were descended from TJ's brother or other family member, not the president himself.

That's pretty much what happened here when a similar group tried to protest potentially naming one of the new Ohio River Bridges after Abraham Lincoln.

Why are a majority of Jeffersons in the US african american?

Might as well close UVA too while we're at it.

I'm surprised the liberals haven't attempted it yet

Thomas Jefferson is a big reason these ingrates and cretins have a country that allow such protests in the first place.
Take down Stonewall Jackson... there is nothing redeeming about his defining participation in the American journey... leave Thomas Jefferson the frick alone.

Rex I don't agree with you that often, but you've been on point with a lot of this PC/SJW bs. I applaud you for not towing party lines and being intellectually honest.
Toddy has been doing the same on a few issues lately as well. It is a good thing.

This trend of judging people from past times using the morals of today is troubling.
Should we judge people of past eras for moral failings
"It may well be that the young or middle aged people of today will, in future decades, look back at views they once held and feel horrified and ashamed. And just as we judge Kant's century, and identify its moral defects, so it is inevitable that the people of the 23rd Century will detect flaws in ours, the 21st."

Or better yet just say:
"No."
No explanation necessary. Just "No."
What are they going to do about it? Protest? They are going to do that anyway.
Yup.
Brilliant.
That's what The Donald would do.

This. I can't stand mob mentality. People make really loud and obnoxious judgments based on a highly insufficient amount of information. Then you have those that do that and think just because they've said it eloquently, that it should be taken as fact.
