We were here when Jimbo was here...you were probably 10 years old and don't remember.

You want spurrier? He has won something?

Bob Stoops?

How about Chiz? he won something.

This would be my number 1 hire........and it's not even close. You guys can say what you want, but there isn't a better candidate out there.

Every replacement will have pros and cons. I have no #1 / #2, etc, hires.

Chip Kelly, Jimbo Fisher, Chris Petersen ... those are 'tier 1' type coaches. They're winning big in 2016.

Only outlandish, unrealistic names like Bill Cowher, John Harbaugh or Jon Gruden would be better than Fisher/Kelly/Petersen, IMO.

A shitload of games. He went to multiple BCS bowls. His winning percentage is much higher than Miles.

Chip is an elite coach. Getting him would be winning the absolute lottery.

Careful with what you wish for. Chip isn't big on defense. He doesn't recruit big players either.

With the exist of Miles you have to wonder if any players would transfer and if any recruits would back out. Something to think about.

On December 9, 2011, Urban Meyer selected Herman as his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Buckeyes.[6] On December 9, 2014, after leading Ohio State's fourth ranked offense while playing two backup quarterbacks, Herman was awarded the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's top assistant coach.[7]

And you ask what he has won. Not to mention they put 42 points on bama in the playoff game.

Lol, that's your response? Instead of answering the question you speculate on if I knew Jimbo was at LSU.

Dude, I been following LSU since the 70's.

Look at the whacked threads
-If he says too much this one gets whacked
-If he is off base, why do the threads get whacked.

please tell me you are one of the following?

A kid?

A woman?

An Idiot?

Jesus Christ man, He got beat in the last second against an Auburn team for the NC that had probably twice the talent as Oregon did....at least. Would you even shut up for a second and think what he could do with the talent he could get at LSU?

At the very least we win a lot of games and have an exciting brand of football...which is something we haven't had in a long time...and I'm a les miles fan......but seriously.

Exactly what proven coach do you want? Good god. This site, they are going to bitch no matter what. If you kids can't see this as a GREAT hire to beat Nick Saban....then I don't know what to tell you...

Thanks for the answer because the follow up question is, who did he beat?

1 semi-good USC team a year was his only stumbling block every year.

In 2007, Herman then followed head coach David Bailiff from Texas State to form the new coaching staff at Rice. Herman’s offense smashed nearly 40 offensive records during his first season as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Owls.[citation needed]

Rice ranked in the Top 10 nationally in 2008 in passing offense (5th; 327.8), scoring offense (T8th; 41.6) and total offense (10th; 472.3). Two Rice receivers had more than 1,300 yards receiving that year, tight end James Casey had 111 catches and quarterback Chase Clement was the Conference USA MVP.[2][3]

I'd much rather Jimbo.

Chip Kelly will be big hit or miss. He rubs people the wrong way, and as soon as things start going wrong, he could bolt and destroy the program.

Jimbo would me much more safe, while still being a great hire. Worst-case with him is 9-3/8-4, much like Les.

Then who do you want? Seriously?

Are you not a big picture thinker? Can't you see the potential here with LSU's talent?

The guy is innovative.....just because he ran a certain brand at Oregon doesn't mean he would do the same at LSU with the talent they have....I'm sure he would modify it some...see he can use a team's talent.

I would say you are the most level-headed fan here.

Do you really think LSU's brass gives Les the boot after this year, or do you believe Les will be on the sidelines at Lambeau on September 3rd?

Exactly. Malachi Dupre came out earlier this year saying he may have gone to a different school if he knew the offense would be this stagnant.

I have a very hard time believing that the locker room is unanimous in demanding Les Miles stay.

What a stupid question. Almost 87% of the teams he played. That's who he beat.

Its not like he could schedule Bama every year.

I think people don't realize how hard it is to recruit to Oregon outside of the Nike connection. They have basically no in-state talent, and do have to compete against other major schools in state. He worked wonders with what he had.

Here, in a state with elite talent, in a state where like 80% of the High Schools run some version of the spread...he would be a destroyer of worlds.
