The trouble with showing Les the door

It might scare off some potential hires to see a university run off a coach who wins consistently. Led has a championship resume and had an undefeated regular season just 4 years ago.
I'm not saying it's not time to part ways. I'm just saying it might scare off some coaches.

This original thought has not previously been expressed by anyone on this board. Thanks for sharing.

I think we'll be ok without the coaches who will be scared off by high expectations.

Their ain't a man/coach that is worth a shite that is afraid of money!

This is like recruits who are afraid of competition. Most successful people feel like I can come in and fix things. They don't look at it like that.

19-12 in the SEC since the 2011 NC game. That's not consistent winning.

2. Speaking of boiling over -- and speaking of my naivete -- LSU has gone from No. 2 in the nation to discussing Les Miles’ future in the course of three bad losses. It seems ludicrous that one short losing streak would precipitate such a reaction from Tiger boosters. I have spent the last few days belittling the speculation that LSU may have had enough of a coach who has won a national championship and two SEC titles. But the volume of reporting has turned my head. One point you hope LSU considers: a coaching change guarantees nothing. You can go in the other direction too.

He's been here, what, 11 years?
I doubt prospects will think we like to run off coaches.

If they dont have the chest...do we really want them as a coach?

Anyone with any football knowledge realizes Les is underachieving. I'd like to think there are some HCs who realize if Les can last 11 years, they can last 11 year. Not to bash the man, but he's had some real head scratchers over the years and has won despite himself. Pretty good gig when you can just out-talent people.

If a potential coach is scared away because we fired a guy for severely underachieving with immense talent then we don't want him. Anybody paying attention can see that he has an offense that is 40 years old. Time for a change.

OK, so you're a coach and you think of yourself as a pretty good coach. LSU offers you the head coach position at 3.5 to 5 million dollars a year. You have excellent facilities, excellent players, and some excellent assistants to keep if you like them. You have some of the best recruiting area in the country. Why would you even think about not being able to excel at the position?

Then you don't want them running the program anyway.

Another short-sighted take by someone who is ignoring the obvious downward trend. Probably another writer who has laughed at and trolled Miles' playcalling and clock management in the past as well.

If you're scared get a dog.

Thanks for watching in 2014, idiot.
Yes, I'm clowning whatever ESPN blogger that seems to have not paid attention to college football in 2014, not the poster that shared this link.

What f'ng football team have you been watching? Against competent coaching and like talent we look like bafoons. Anyone not drinking the cool-aid with the P&G glasses on can see it. THIS INCLUDES A COMPETENT REPLACEMENT COACH! There are the aforementioned plethora of reasons a great coach would want this opportunity. This is a top 5-6 program. Wake the f up!
