How is Jimbo any different than Miles?

I'm genuinely asking, because I don't keep up with things as much as most of y'all. What I see is that he only had real success when he had a heisman QB, not to mention the irony that everyone wanted to get rid if him when he was or OC (if I remember correctly). Hiring him would seem to be a safe hire, but not a homerun, while also being expensive.
What am I missing (genuine question, not baiting anyone).

Genuine answer:
Jimbo coaches the heck out of qb's. Perhaps that qb was a Heisman winner because he played for Jimbo. Do a little research and see all the qb's that Jimbo has coached in his career. Either he is phenomenal at teaching the qb position, or he is the best qb talent evaluator in the country.

Develop QBs and runs an offense that isn't from the 70s. Recruiting will not drop off either.

I would prefer Chip Kelly. Don't wish to see the same old same old.

He seems to have a good track record of developing QBs though
Russel
Mauck
Flynn
Winston
Ponder
Obviously not all of these guys had success in the NFL but they all got drafted and all made a 53 man roster their rookie years. That's more than what you can say for most programs...

Uh ... He runs an offense you don't get physically sick watching?

He isn't. He's taken top 5 classes every year only to underachieve in the ACC when it didn't even have a pulse. He'll post the same 2-3 losses a year here and in three years LSU fans will be calling for his head. Not only that, but we'll get a few nice offseason controversies to boot. LSU's best hope is to go after an up and comer and hope we strike gold.

His offensive philosophy doesn't consist of handing the ball off and hoping everything else will work itself out later.

If we could maintain top 5 recruiting classes then I'm on board

He has proven to have great college QB play, Jamarcus, Flynn, Ponder, Jameis.. etc..
You say he only does good when he has a heisman QB.. He gets credit for that.. btw he now has a heisman contender at RB.. He has a chance to produce 2 heisman players and if he came to LSU a 3rd..
He builds an incredible program, recruits with the VERY best of top relevant coaches, he puts some serious NFL talent on the field.
Look at his 2013 team. Nearly the entire offense and defense is basically starters in the NFL.. Even the 2 running backs are tearing it up in the NFL..
He gets tremendous oline play.
He is undefeated in bowl games, he did lose in the playoffs last season, but prior to it he went 2 straight regular season UNDEFEATED.
His QB that was a beast, did it all with his arms.. and was not even much of a running threat in the least..
I could go on and on.. Oh yeah he does use his tight ends too..
Oh yeah, he would not have kicked Ryan Perrilloux off the team like Les did. He had Winston's back the best he could. Miles took the risk of kicking off Perrilloux, rather than go the suspending route.. and it really set the program back to almost never recovering at the QB position.

He's Miles with an appreciation for balanced offense which is all we really want anyway. If Miles had that he wouldn't be in this position right now.
And he won't recruit qb's that have no business running his offense.
He would be the most seamless transition with the least amount of risk. He would be the ideal replacement.
Outside of him the risk increases dramatically IMO.

He's won the ACC 3 put of 5 years and lost to Georgia tech on a fluke play and really should have beaten Clemson. Oh and he has also been in the CFP and won a national title the year before so there's that.

Ummm Les gave Perrilloux plenty of chance, Perrilloux was the frick up on that one not Les.

That's silly.
Kelly didn't win a NC.. Does Kelly typically have good defenses? I really don't remember, but I would be concerned with that.
Jimbo seems to be very balanced at all 3 phases of football..
I heard Kelly does not like recruiting.. what's up with that? Recruiting is the very name of the game.
