So the same as taking off rainy, wet shoes down here.

I say, if you wear 'slippers', you are wrong.
Cody Lundin says, if you wear shoes, ever, in any location, you are wrong.

In the winter you track in snowy/icy/wet shoes in Northern states.
In the spring that turns to mud which is even worse. Most houses in snow regions have designated places to leave your shoes. Your floors will resemble a chicken coop if you don't.

I don't make people take off their shoes when they visit.
But when I get home and won't be leaving again....first thing I do is take off my shoes and put them in the closet. I walk barefoot in the house(except for winter) and keep a pair of flip flops in our coat closet if I need to run outside real quick.
When I have a kid I will likely be more conscious of the shoe thing though and do like most nurses with small kids do....take off their work shoes and leave in garage or right by door out of reach of small children.

Wearing shoes inside your own home is weird.

We did this for a while when our house was new. Amazing how much cleaner it stays. We dont now.

The outside is evidently much dirtier than you realize. We take our shoes off just inside the door.

I leave my shoes on my feet until I take them off for bed time.
I'm not of Asian descent though.
